It is raining heavily today. I remember that the month of June is the start of the rainy season. I love it when it rains heavily. The sound of the rain calms my soul and it is one of the best things ever.

Thursday ngayon at nasa office ako. I need to work to have an income. Since I have a degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts, I work as an editor in our company. Minsan nga ay ako ang gumagawa ng mga design sa book covers, logo, poster, at movie poster.

"Nat, a friend of mine is asking for the price of your paintings. He is willing to buy some." I flash a small smile upon hearing what my Kuya Ranz said.

"Oh! That's nice! What is his username on Instagram? So that I can follow him and DM the prices." I asked for the username of his friend.

Mamaya ko na aatupagin iyong kaibigan ni Kuya dahil naalala ko na mayroon pala akong kailangang tapusing trabaho. Kailangan ito by 3PM and I need to finish this as soon as possible.

"Add more color to it. Too bland." Pambabash ni Kuya sa ginagawa ko.

"Shut up! That's the theme and it's not bland!" I defended my work.

"Whatever you say." Masungit niyang sambit.

I know that he likes my work even though he is not that vocal about his admiration for my works and I understand him. He is an introvert person that's why.

"I was just kidding. Your edit is nice." Pambabawi niya pa.

Hindi na ako sumagot at ngumiti na lang. Kuya Ranz commending my work is a great flex. Sa tatlo kong Kuya, siya ang istrikto at seryoso sa buhay. That explains why he is still single up to this day. Pangalawa siya sa aming magkakapatid ngunit wala pa rin siyang asawa.

Sa August naka-schedule ang flight ko papuntang New York. Sa August kasi ang due date ni Ate Leonor and I need to be there in case an emergency will happen. I am excited about it! Excited ako dahil makakapunta ako ng New York at makikita ko ang bago kong pamangkin!

"I haven't heard anything from Gian. May balita ka ba sa kaniya?" Panay ang pagdadaldal ni Kuya sa akin. I should be thankful dahil sa akin lang siya nagiging ganito kadaldal.

"Wala rin akong balita kay Kuya. Hindi pa nita ako tinetext. I miss him na nga, e." I pouted.

"I know that he is your favorite brother." Umirap si Kuya.

"Duh! I don't have a favorite!" Pasigaw kong sagot.

"Si Gian ang favorite mo. You can't lie to me." Umiiling niyang sambit.

"That was back then! Now, you are my favorite because you are always by my side. Tapos kapag nagt-travel ako, sinasamahan mo ako kapag may free time ka." Sinabi ko ang bagay na iyan upang gumaan ang kalooban niya.

Hindi niya ako makapaniwalang tiningnan. I gave him a cute smile before returning my gaze to the computer screen.

Noong tiningnan ko ang calendar ko, napasapo na lang ako sa noo noong naalala ko ang alis ko papuntang New York. Doon ako magpapasko at mukhang susunod ang mga magulang namin doon para sa holiday. Kapag naman busy sila sa buwan ng Disyembre ay baka hindi na sila matuloy sa binabalak nilang pagsunod sa akin doon.

Maabutan ko ang winter season doon kaya kailangan kong mamili ng mga makakapal at mahahabang damit. New York is colder than California. I've been to California before to visit my cousin and the view of Los Angeles is still vivid in my memory.
