Chapter 24 My "brilliant" idea

I knock on Kate's door with Pranav right behind me. She opens it.
"Hey guys...." she says smiling forcedly as if she knew something I didn't.
"Hi!" I say, and Pranav waves somewhat awkwardly.
"Are those guys here?" I ask making my way in. She nods on points to the living room.

"Hi guys!" I say.
"Hey" Sarah says but Cody is too busy glaring at Pranav. What's up with him?
Pranav stands there a bit awkwardly as if not knowing what to do.

"Okayyyy..... so should we get started?" I say, trying to break the tension. They don't do anything but nod. Something is seriously wrong with these guys.

"Hey Kate, about you start playing a game with Pranav. You'd be great competition." I suggest.
"Sure" She says and sits down on one of the bean bags Pranav following close behind.
I meanwhile sit next to Cody. "What's up with you?" I ask whispering.
"Nothing" he whispers back.
"Then why do you keep glaring at Pranav like he killed your cat?" I ask him raising my eyebrows.
"I don't glare at him!" he says unconvincingly. I start to say something else but he cuts me off, "okay! It's just.....isn't it weird having him in the friend group?" He mumbles.
"I'm not 'adding him to the friend group'! " I say, "I just didn't want to blow you guys off so I decided we could do both.."
"Oh, ok" he replies somewhat satisfied. We play taking turns for a while.

When Kate and I are playing, I hear Pranav and Cody talking. "Have you heard of this channel?" I hear Cody say probably holding up his phone.
"I've heard of it, apparently it's going viral in the school.." Pranav replies.
"Yup" I hear Cody says with some hidden triumph.
"Well yeah, it's really good.." Cody says, "here, listen."
Two minutes pass and I almost forget about their conversation when Pranav says, " It's a cool channel, but I feel like I've heard that voice before..." my head whips back and I stare wide eyed at Cody. I hear Kate saying "Ha! Take that!" from behind me and I realize I've stopped playing. I turn back around and continue playing.

I hear Cody say, "it's possible" and I tune out the rest of their conversation.

———————— time skip to Monday ————————-———

"We have a soccer school league coming up soon..." I say sitting in the cafeteria.
The three look at me with smiles. "That's amazing, Coach is going to let you play right?" Sarah asks.
"Yup, Mark and his goons are the only one trying to convince coach otherwise. But Justin's on my side surprisingly, and coach thinks I'll be an asset while playing against Rockwood High this Saturday."
"Why is it surprising that Justin is supporting you?" Cody asks.
"Haven't I already told you guys why our 'friendship' is complicated?"
"Oh yeah....but he's supported you from the beginning and maybe he stares at you to see the technique you use or something, it isn't necessary he's trying to 'find something wrong with you'.." Sarah chimes in.
"Yeah, possible....wait, do you think he likes me?!" I ask, looking specifically at Cody.
"Um.. I don't know" Cody replies eyes wide for some reason.

Cody's POV

Pranav was enough, now my twin brother might like her too?! And how in the world does she realize it for others? It's like she's just oblivious towards certain people which include me.....

Back to Ava's POV

I look at my phone again. How am I gaining subscribers so quick? I have 50 subscribers already...do you think it's because of the suspense of not showing my face?
I go through the comments, many of them supporting me with my cause, many reprimanding me and many asking for a face reveal.
Till now I hadn't been considered it, but looking at all the comments, maybe in the very far future I may just consider it.

Hey......Ik this chapter was like really really boring and short but it was kind of a filler. We know 3 people MAY (not necessarily) have a crush on her and she's gaining fame quick. Those are the only things you need to remember.

Btw, I'm thinking of ending this story soon....so around 3-4 more chapters maybe? I think I kinda have them planned out so...
