A day long ago a boy picked up a ball of snow off the ground and with a smile threw it at another kid who dodged and had it hit another boy then he dodged a snowball and picked up two more
They all laughed having a fun snowball fight while a human Rui watched them and he went to step forward but tripped on his own foot and fell face first into the snow and he coughed and flipped over looking at the sky
???: Rui! Rui!
A woman run up to him with concern
???: Rui! What are you doing? You know you're not supposed to be outside!
Later that night he sat unable to sleep
Rui: (I was always very frail ever since I was born. I'd never even run. Just walking was a struggle.)
He looked to the door only to see a man in white
Rui: (Until Master Muzan appeared.)
The said master opened his pale red eyes
Muzan: You pitiful thing. Let me save you.
Then his parents were shocked at the new "evolution"
Rui: (My parents weren't happy about it.)
A drop of Muzan's blood dripped into the water spreading rapidly
Rui: (Because now that I'd acquired a strong body, I could never expose myself to sunlight, and I had to devour humans.)
A door slid open shinning a light on a dead and bloody body as the father walked in
Father: What have you done? What on earth have you done? Rui!
Behind him his wife was crying and Rui had his white skin and hair
Rui: (Long ago, I heard a wonderful story.)
Then everything went black as a Waraji spun in a flowing river
Rui: (There was once a father who died trying to save his drowning child.)
The boy cried over his passed father
Rui: (I was deeply moved. Such an astounding parental love. And such a bond, as well. This father who drowned had fulfilled his role as a parent.)
The Waraji was then taken by the river as back to the house
Rui: (And yet, For some reason, my own parents...)
His father stood over crying a sleeping Rui and raised up a knife
Rui: (My own parents tried to... Kill me. All my mother did was sob, never lifting a finger to protect me as I was about to be killed.)
His eyes shot open as blood splattered across the room and once done Rui sat outside looking at the moon
Past Rui: (They must've been imposters.)
Behind him his now dead parents laid
Past Rui: (The bond between us wasn't real.)
He looked back to his still shaking mother
Mother: Sorry...
She sputtered out while still dying
Past Rui: (She's saying something. So, she's still alive?)
Mother: For not giving you a strong, healthy body. I'm so sorry.
His eyes widened and pupils shook as she died
Rui: (Those were my mothers last words before dying. She died.)
He thought back to before he was stabbed
