Fated Fight - Chapter 57

Zane glared at his uncle he knew this day would come but not in this setting 

His thoughts were cut off by Yami's loud laughing 

Yami: I-I had a suspicion you'd survived that night, but this? 

He turned fully to Zane throwing the body to his right

Yami: A Demon Slayer? That's hilarious! 

He laughed more holding his stomach before wiping a tear from his eye

Yami: I'm glad the universe gave me another chance to get satisfaction out of killing you for real.

However Zane narrowed his eyes as the wind picked up blowing his hair and haori

Zane: (Still the same as ever...)

He put his thumb on his tsuba guard pushed it out then slowly grabbing his hilt Zane drew his blade out to the side 

Yami: Heh! You think you can stand against me? Adorable.

The boy didn't respond and simply moved his blade in front of him and crouched down slight getting into a Seigan no Kamae like stance

Zane: I'm not the same boy you knew.

The two stared each other down tension built so thick it could be cut with a knife

Zane: (This beat. Its similar to...)

A image of Daki flashed in his mind

Zane: (Is he really as strong as her?)

He narrowed his eyes and got ready as Yami suddenly zipped forward and appeared in front of Zane with his right hand pulled back for a heavy punch down into the ground destroying it

This however missed as Zane stepped to the right and sliced in a left swing arc which Yami himself dodged by leaning back then spinning his left arm over to punch Zane

Using the momentum from his slash Zane stepped back dodging the punch again as Yami kicked his right leg at Zane which missed 

But that was on purpose so Yami could swing his upper body forward faster than normal and throw a left straight at Zane who instead of dodging used his sword to block making Yami smirk

Yami: Well well... Color me impressed, brat, you do seem to be different.

He didn't respond as he pushed Yami back who spun around and put his right arm out a red orange glow surrounding it as a wooden wheelbarrow was flung at Zane 

Hearing this Zane reacted quickly and sliced through it

Yami: Nice reflexes!

He raised his left arm up with his hand straight as his nails grew forming a blade as he jumped at the boy and chopped at him but was only met with his arm getting cut off

Though the arm regrew almost instantly

Zane: (His regeneration's on par with her.)

Then placing his hand on the ground Yami used his blood arts to make a mound of dirt shoot up from under Zane to knock him off balance but he jumped back making Yami cackle

Yami: Come on! That all you got?

The mound retracted into the ground as he lunged at him

Zane: (He might be as strong as her... But she wasn't really a problem without Gyutaro.)

He readjusted himself and got back into his stance

Zane: I'm going to avenge everyone you've ever killed, Yami.
