Alexander had won the game, as per usual.

Nina and James had left a little while ago and now I was standing in my Alexander's car in the dark parking lot. Where is he?

I shivered and hugged my arms to myself. As the night went on it only got colder. All I had on me was my cheer uniform and the sweatshirt I had worn to school this morning. A breeze went by and my teeth began to chatter. Absent-mindedly, I turned around in my spot looking for him.

Why is it so quiet?

The football field was basically empty but the stadium lights were still on and the lamps in the parking lot were still on as well so I could clearly see there were a bunch of cars left. Where did everybody go?

Something crawled on my neck, lightly scraping with thin points.

I gasped and immediately moved to scratch the back of my neck. I turned around, my eyes frantically searching for the source but I saw nothing and felt nothing on the back of my neck.

I swallowed thickly and placed a hand over my chest to desperately try and control my breathing.

Where is he?

Before I knew it, my hands had pulled my phone out of my bag and were dialing Alexander's number. The paranoia was becoming too much. I could barely breathe. I closed my eyes and tried to steady my hands, which were now violently shaking.

Calm down.

Please, Corvina, relax.

The sound of a car crash and glass breaking made me jump. My eyes widened. I heard the familiar echo of screams. Where have I heard this before?

"Why didn't you wait inside?"

"Jesus," I nearly screamed.

I jumped, suddenly startled and flipped my body around to see Alexander staring at me with a concerned look on his face. Seeing my dismay, his face softened.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you, but you know it's not safe Corey and it's cold," he said sternly and then proceeded to take off his sweatshirt and hand it to me.

"They closed the girls locker room early," I said weakly in defense. I looked back up at Alexander's face. His eyes were wandering over the entire parking lot. After a few more seconds he let out a deep breath.

Alexander pulled out his keys and unlocked the door before opening it and gesturing to me to get it. I sat down and he gently shut it before getting into the drivers' side. I continued to shiver and swiftly pulled his sweatshirt over me for more warmth. However when I looked over at him, he seemed completely fine in only a t-shirt.

The drive to his house was spent in a comfortable silence. I wanted to speak, to start a conversation but it was like being in his presence left me speechless. It was as if the thoughts that should have translated to my vocal chords never made it there. Their signal to my neural pathways is blocked just by looking at him a little too long.

I can't help that he makes me nervous.

Alexander parked the car in his driveway and I followed him out of the car and into the house. He silently led me up the grand staircase and down a hallway to the door. The butterflies in my stomach began to take flight.
