Chapter 17: Mayhem With Friends

Team HVRN is out on the Atlesian Ocean. Miss Malachite managed to get them a boat to take them to a small island off the coast of Vale named Patch. She also managed to get the info on V for Hawk, who was grateful for her help. As the team sails on the open ocean, Pyrrha discovers that she is easily sea-sick. So she is currently showing up off the ship's side, Hawk making sure she doesn't fall in. Ren is overlooking the map making sure they stay on course even though the ship's captain assures him they haven't deviated. Nora is swinging Rebellion around like her hammer; surprisingly, she has gotten the hang of using the weapon.

Nora: "Hey, Hawk? How about this?" Doing an overhead slash, she switches to her hammer and does an uppercut with it.

Hawk: "Impressive, you know if you had just a bit more strength, you could wield both of them at the same time."

Nora: "You think so?" Hawk nods. "Sick! Maybe one day I can be the perfect weapon of Grimm Destruction."

Hawk: "You know there might be a way." Pulling up the briefcase of vials.

Ren: "You know I've always wondered what's in the case? You always seem to keep what's in there close by."

Hawk: Opening the case, Pyrrha lifting her head a bit to get a peek. "Inside this case is vials containing a serum of some kind that mimics the effects of the Qliphoth Fruit."

Nora: "Ooh...it's Qliphoth juice." The others laugh at the realization.

Hawk: "*Chuckles* That's some way of giving it a name. But like I said, drinking these can mimic the effects but also mimic the side effects. Fortunately, to a lesser degree, less power, and it wouldn't turn you into a full demon."

Ren: "How do you know this?"

Hawk: "During my battle with Cinder, she drank one of these, and she became what equates to a half-demon. She gained a terrifying power, but she let take hold of her. But like before, if you prepare mentally and physically, you can resist the negative effects."

Ren: "Huh, so are you ever going to destroy them?"

Hawk: "To be genuinely honest with you, and please don't take this the wrong way. I hope that one day I can give you each one so that you don't have to rely on me. I want you all to do the things I can, so I don't always need to worry about you all. Because I love you all, very dearly." There was silence from the other three.

Pyrrha: "Uhm...while we appreciate the care for us. I don't think we would want to give away a piece of ourselves like that."

Nora: "You know what I picked up. Hawk LOVES us." Nora and Ren burst out into laughter; Pyrrha tries to join but pukes again into the sea.

Ren: "Okay, but in all seriousness, we do appreciate the offer, but we prefer the way we are now...maybe down the road when we are more prepared."

Nora: "Screw waiting, I wanna swing me mighty hammer!! Give me!" Trying to snatch a vial, but Hawk pulls away.

Hawk: "While I always enjoy the enthusiasm, Nora. Ren is right; I'd rather wait for when you are all ready."

Putting the briefcase away, Hawk notices a mass moving under the water. A prominent dark figure is moving slowly under the ship.

Hawk: "Hmm, I think this is the perfect practice for me."

Ren: "What're you talking about?" Hawk stands up and takes off his coat, turns back towards the three, shoots a smirk, and jumps into the water.

Pyrrha: "Hawk-" She screams but throws up again.

Nora: "Woah! That's one way of making an exit."
