A/N: This is set between FLASHBACK and LEGACY. In this story, they have already been dating for a while. This story is about Sophie's nightmares. Idk if it counts as angst but I didn't know what else to put.

Sophie was standing in the hall at foxfire. She was talking to Fitz, they were chatting about the lesson they had just come from, their joint telepathy session with Tiergan.

"That lesson was really hard, huh?" Fitz asked. Sophie nodded. "Yeah, I'm exhausted." "Wanna rest at my place? We gotta do that homework though." Fitz said. Sophie nodded. "Sure, sounds good!" Fitz pulled out a leaping crystal, and him and Sophie leapt to Everglen.

When they arrived, Sophie knew something was very, very wrong. It was dead silent, the only sound was the quiet howl of the wind. The many, many windows of Everglen were all dark, and none of the goblins were around.

"What's going on?" Fitz asked Grizel. "You wait here, Grizel and I are going to check it out." Sandor said. Him and Grizel walked inside the gates. Sophie and Fitz stood by the gate. Five minutes passed. Then ten.

"We should go look for them." Fitz said. Sophie nodded. "Yeah, something is not right." She said. They walked to where Sandor and Grizel had gone. The two elves walked down the path, arriving at the garden.

"This is where the troll hive was." Sophie whispered, shivering at the memories. "Grizel! Sandor!" Fitz called. No-one responded. "Hey, that's Grizel's sword!" Fitz pointed to an object on the ground.

They ran up to it, then froze. The blade was covered in blood, and the old troll hive... was wide open. Fitz and Sophie turned to fully face the hive. Suddenly, a twig snapped. They slowly turned to see a hulking newborn troll, fangs dripping with red, right behind them.

Both of them screamed, and took off running. They raced towards the house, passing more blood on the way. The troll was in quick pursuit, and was gaining on them. Sophie and Fitz could smell its rancid breath, which stunk of raw meat.

Fitz tripped on a tree root, and crashed to the ground. "Sophie! RUN!" He screamed, the fear in his eyes making her blood run cold. Sophie was paralyzed as she saw the troll tower above her boyfriend. The troll's arms wrapped around Fitz, and pulled him up.

"RUN! GET OUT OF HERE!" Fitz screamed. Sophie couldn't move. The trolls opened his mouth, and Sophie could do nothing but watch as the troll closed it. Blood splattered onto Sophie's cheek, and she screamed.

Sophie bolted upright, tears streaming down her face. It was just a dream, thank god! She thought, but she couldn't stop shaking. I couldn't, didn't do anything and- Sophie couldn't even finish that train of thought.

Hands shaking, she pulled out her imparted. "Hail Fitz." She said, her voice trembling. There were a terrifying few seconds where he didn't pick up, and Sophie didn't dare move. Then the screen flashed. Call connecting, it read.

"Hey? Sophie, what's up?" Fitz asked, his accented voice filling the room. His eyes widened with horror when he saw the state Sophie was in. "You're okay... you're okay..." She kept repeating the words to herself.

"What happened?" Fitz asked, eyebrows creasing with worry. "I-i had a n-nightmare." Sophie stammered, before she broke down in sobs. "Do you want me to come over?" Fitz asked. Sophie nodded.

"Give me two minutes." Fitz said. He hung up the call. Sophie hugged her knees to her chest, tears still flowing. Every time she thought of Fitz, all she could see was the blood that had splattered from the trolls mouth.

A sound came from the window. She looked up to see Fitz levitating and climbing through her window. "Holy shit! Sophie!" Fitz ran over to her. He sat down next to her, and wrapped his arms around his crying girlfriend.

Sophie didn't say anything, but hugged him back tightly. "What happened?" Fitz asked, as she sobbed into his chest. "N-nightm-mare." She choked out. "Was it the Neverseen?" He asked. She slowly shook her head.

"Trolls." "Can you tell me what happened?" He asked. Sophie told him what had happened, by the end of it she was even more upset. "It's okay, Sophie. I'm here, I'm okay, you're okay, the trolls were defeated, remember?" He said quietly.

"It was just so s-scary. I couldn't d-do anything, and then you- you..." Sophie couldn't finish her sentence. Fitz moved so that he could see her face. "Sophie, it's okay now. How often do you get nightmares this bad?" He asked.

"L-lots. Almost every night." She said. Fitz wiped away her tears. "Why haven't you called me before? I'm always happy to talk or just be there for you." He said. "O-okay. Sorry for waking you up." Sophie said quietly.

"It's fine. Really, I don't mind. Even Grizel was fine with it, she let me come right over." He said. "Okay. Thanks for coming." Sophie said. "You can always talk to me. If you want, I can stay here tonight?" Fitz asked.

"No, won't your parents get worried?" "I'll tell them now." Fitz pulled out his imparter. "It's fine, you shouldn't have to stay here with me." Sophie wiped her eyes. "I want to make sure you're ok, I don't care if I sleep or not. I care if you're okay, because I love you." He told her.

"Thanks. I love you too." Sophie said. Fitz smiled. "Seriously though, do you want me to go?" He asked. She slowly shook her head. "No. I just didn't want to be a burden because of a nightmare." "You're not a burden, and never will be." Fitz pulled her back into a hug.

"I'll stay for as long as you want." Fitz told her. "Okay." After a while, they both laid down, Fitz keeping one arm around her as she snugged against his side. They talked for a little while longer, before Sandor had told them to keep it down.

A/N: Sandor had heard it all. Under normal circumstances, he would have been 100% against Fitz staying the night, but he knows that Fitz is there to support her, not fuck her.

"Hey, Sophie?" Fitz asked. When he didn't hear a response, he looked down to find that Sophie had fallen asleep. Cute, Fitz thought. He slowly sat up, so as not to wake her, and pulled the blankets over them.

A/N: Not for sus reasons, he doesn't want either of them to catch colds.

Before long, Fitz was also asleep. During the night, Sophie had another nightmare, but she was fine, for she didn't wake up, she had felt Fitz against her, and knew they were both safe.

Sophie began to call Fitz whenever she had bad dreams, but after a while, her nightmares did get better, because she knew she could talk to him. Eventually, the only times Fitz slept over were for other, uhh, reasons. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

A/N: Sorry this was short, I'm not good at writing angst.
