A/N: 679 reads!!!! I swear, this book is literally my motivation to live some days. Thank you guys for taking the time to read this crappy book!

In this one shot, Keefe and Tam aren't dating. 18+ AU because I don't feel comfortable writing underage drinking. This relates to zero cannon plot! Also swearing!

Tam shrugged off his coat. He was in Everglen's large foyer. He didn't want to be there. The  Vackers were hosting a party, and at least half of Foxfire was there.

Tam hated parties. They were nothing but noise, hookups and regrets. Lihn had practically dragged him here. Tam saw a flash of blond from the corner of his eye.

Keefe.

Keefe was the life of the party, as per usual. Dancing, laughing, maybe drinking a tad. He saw a familiar silver-banged boy by the entrance, and walked over.

"Hey, Bangs boy! I didn't know you were coming, I thought you hated parties."

"I do. Lihn dragged me here." Tam pointed to his twin, who was chatting with Wyllie across the room.

"Well, you're here now, might as well have some fun!" Keefe laughed.

Tam was feeling nervous. Why? Well, for starters, he was always anxious in crowds, being shunned his whole life tended to do that. Two, he did not want I drink and say something he'd regret. Especially to Keefe.

Yup, the anti-social shade had the hots for the loud, flirty empath. And Tam did not want that getting out. Everyone knew he was gay, but still.

"Hey, bangs boy?" Keefe waved a hand in front of Tam's face. Tam blinked. "You zoned out." Keefe informed him.

Tam suddenly became very aware of how close to eye ere standing. He waved to Keefe and walked into the main room.  Tam eyed the refreshments table. Elves were already slumped in corners. Idiots.

Tam spotted Fitz and Sophie. They waved and walked over.

"Enjoying the party?" Fitz asked.

"How the fuck are your parents okay with this?" Tam gestured around the room. He was right, how in hell would Alden and Della be okay with this?

"They're on an assignment from the council." Fitz told him. Of course they were. Tam sighed and followed his usual party protocol.

He waited until Fitz and Sophie went to chat with Marella and Maruca, before he slipped away. He pushed past people in varying stages of drunkness, he had to literally walk over blacked out teens.

Until he finally arrived at the balcony. There was always a circle of calm on the balconies at parties. Tam stared at the grounds of Everglen. The loud music behind him faded away as he stared at the sky.

The stars were awesome, they took his focus away from blond haired empathys. Speaking of which, that particular empath was getting pretty tipsy.

Keefe was walking around, holding a glass a fizzleberry wine. He felt a bit drunk. He was. Very.

He looked around for Tam, when he saw him on the balcony. Keefe clumsily walked over. Tam looked over when Keefe stood next to him.

"Hi?" Tam raised an eyebrow.

"Hiya Bangs boy." Keefe slurred. Tam sighed.

"You're drunk already?" He asked, exhasperated.

"I'm not drunk. I've only had like, 5 of these!" Keefe held up his cup.

"That would make you highly drunk. You should go home, unless you want to spend the night slumped in a corner." Tam told him.

Keefe froze. Then he shook his head. Even while drunk, he was smart enough to want to avoid his father.
