A/N: We are 307 in kotlc!!! And 235 reads!!! Yay! 19 votes!!! Art is mine, but I drew over a template. But I made it Tam and Keefe.

This is set sometime after LODESTAR. Keefe and Tam are already dating in this.

Also, this story may have triggers! It mentions suicidal behaviour and self-harm.

Tam walked towards the lunch table, where his friends already were. He took his usual spot, next to Keefe. It looked like a typical lunchtime. Everyone was talking about classes, ranting about tests, but Tam noticed that Keefe seemed... distant somehow?

"Hey, you okay?" Tam nudged Keefe. The other boy snapped out of his trance-like state. "Yeah, I'm fine. Why?" Keefe said quickly. "Nothing." Tam replied, although he knew Keefe wasn't telling him the full story.

Keefe shrugged and turned to his food. Tam noticed he was wearing long sleeves, despite the warm weather. Weird, he thought.

"Aren't you overheating?" Tam asked. Keefe turned to him, looking slightly panicked as he shook his head. "Nope! Not at all!" He told Tam. Tam could tell something was off, but he didn't know what.

When the bell rang, and everyone got up to go to class, Tam noticed that Keefe sleeves had slid down slightly. He saw Keefe look around, then pull his sleeves back down. Keef seemed slightly panicked, and touched his wrist through his sleeve.

That's odd. Tam was still thinking as he got to class. Keefe seems off lately... I'll ask about it later. What Tam didn't know was that he had every reason to be worried, for Keefe was in a very bad situation.

After school, Tam wanted to talk to Keefe, but the other boy went straight home. Weird, he normally stays around school for a while, Tam thought. Something must be on his mind. Tam pulled out his imparter.

Tam/Bangs boy: Hey, r u ok?

Keefe/Lord Hunky hair: [read]

Tam/Bangs boy: I mean it, u good? U seemed upset today, and you haven't been yourself lately.

Keefe/Lord Hunky hair: U worry to much. I'm fine.

Tam/Bangs boy: Good.

U can always talk to me if there is something tho

Keefe/Lord Hunky hair: [read]

Tam sighed and put down his imparter. I'm no empath, but I can tell when I'm being lied to, he thought. If he doesn't want to talk, I guess I'll leave it, he concluded, but he was still troubled. If something was bothering his boyfriend, it must be something pretty bad if he couldn't even tell Tam.

-Timeskip to the next day-

Tam leapt to school, and walked to the usual spot. The rest of his friends were there, except Keefe. Weird, is he running late? Tam wondered. He's normally here by now. Tam had no idea why Keefe wasn't there. If he had, maybe he could have prevented it.

"Hey Tam! Where's Keefe?" Fitz asked. "I don't know. I thought he was here already." "I thought he was with you." Fitz responded. "I guess he's not coming?" Dex said, as the first bell rang. Everyone rushed off to class.

Tam had study hall first. He was weirded out by the silence. Normally, Keefe sat next to him, and talked his ear off for the whole session. For once, Tam missed the noise. He tried to study, but found his eyes kept straying to the empty desk.

Off days aren't normal at Foxfire... I hope he's okay. I'll check on him after school, he thought. He looked towards the front. The teacher was reading a book, completely absorbed in some book about dragons.
