Kol was surprised when Catalina started to pepper kisses over his face.

He wasn't opposed to it. But it was certainly unexpected.

"You're here," she said, still not believing what she was seeing as she held onto him, her lips pressing hard against his cheek. "You're actually here..."

"And you're very excited to see me," he commented, pulling back so that he could look at her properly. "Are your memories—?"

Catalina's face fell. "No... I'm sorry."

Kol was clearly crestfallen. He figured the kisses had something to do with her being able to remember everything again. "Oh... alright," he said softly, before growing even sadder when he realized how awful it must have been for her to suffer through this all because of him. "Tere... this is all my fault."

"No it's not," she said. "Those brats made a plan to kill you. This is their fault. We need to kill them."

"And we will. But... some of the blame still falls on me. I was the one who said we should prioritize creating the dagger. We should have focused on the sireline de-linking spell. And then I told you that your safety was my top priority, but I let myself be cocky. I didn't think they'd manage to hurt me, but they did, and it doomed us both."

"I don't care, Kol," she said, holding his face. "I don't care... I'm just glad I can see you again..."

Kol took her hands, bringing them down. "Are you alright? What have you been doing this whole time?"

"Walking around," she told him. "Following my name wherever I hear it. Eavesdropping on conversations about me. I..." she heard a familiar voice inside the Grill. "Isn't that your sister talking?"

Kol raised a brow, and walked with her to the door. Inside, they could see Matt Donovan standing with Rebekah.

"You know, you don't have to be here," Matt said as he and the Original walked around lighting candles inside the restaurant. "I mean, technically only one of us is getting paid."

"But it's fun," said Rebekah with a slight smile. "And kind of cozy, with the storm outside, and the candlelight... and us."

At that, Kol pushed open the door, and the two vampires walked in. Rebekah immediately paled. "Oh my god," she said softly. "Kol... Catalina."

"Greetings from the dead," said Kol. "So, who fancies a drink?" He walked past the two, causing Matt to step back. Kol ignored him and went to the bar, grabbing two glasses and a bottle of bourbon, starting to pour a drink for himself and Catalina, who had her arms crossed, and was staring at Matt hungrily. It had been far too long since she had a sip of blood.

"I thought I'd never see you again," said Rebekah breathlessly, focusing on her brother.

"Spare me the waterworks, sister," said Kol, holding up a glass and beckoning Catalina to come and get it. "I've already watched you grieve. It lasted a full twenty-four hours, remember?"

"Still longer than she mourned Finn, from what we heard," said Catalina as she and Kol drank.

Matt gulped. "I'm assuming this means Bonnie dropped the veil."

"Not completely, and not for long," said Kol.

"But this still grants us enough time to get revenge," said Catalina. "We did hear Jeremy died. What a pity. We can't hurt him... but we can hurt his bitch sister, who came up with the plan to kill Kol in the first place."

"Why don't you two help us find her?" asked Kol with fake sweetness.

Matt started to walk menacingly toward them, as if he genuinely thought he could cause them a lick of harm. "If you hurt Elena, I swear—"
