Catalina could accomplish quite a bit when she was hurting.
Her pain was her motivation to succeed. She had to, or her entire world would crumble down. Bringing Kol back was the only thing that would make her feel happy again. If he was gone, she'd feel lost.
"You've been the woman on a mission for many days in a row already," said Klaus suspiciously when he saw her in the hallway for the fifth time that hour. "What are you up to?"
"Something that benefits all of us," she said blandly. "You wouldn't understand. What's the progress on Freya?"
"She'll be coming by for brunch today, after sealing Finn away in that pendant of hers. My siblings and I will be getting to know her more."
"What ended up happening with Vincent Griffith?"
"Marcel has him."
"Alright. I'll be there if anyone needs me."
Klaus just watched her scurry off, unsure what to say to her.
She arrived in Algiers, where Marcel had kept Vincent confined in one of the empty lofts. The man was currently away, though looking a bit ill.
"What is this?" asked Vincent when Marcel brought her in. "Is she gonna dose me with more lobilia flower?"
"Not at all," said Catalina. "You have enough in your system to keep from doing magic. I need to talk to you about Eva Sinclair. Marcel tells me it's a sore subject for you."
Vincent scoffed. "I wake up here, to find out some man possessed me for nine months. And now you're both asking me about her? I'm done talking."
Catalina held up her hand, and Vincent was thrown across the room. "Well, I'm just getting started. I have a mission, and you're going to help me. I may not be a vampire anymore, but I still know how to get into people's minds. I'll get the information out of you one way or another."
"You're one of them?" said Vincent. "One of the vampires who... who got implanted into witch bodies?"
"Finn is my unfortunate almost-brother-in-law. Used to be my friend until he started trying to hurt innocents. Even as a vampire, there are certain lines I won't cross. He killed his own brother. The man I love. And he tried to kill his own niece. Which leaves you in a bad position, because Klaus Mikaelson is gonna want revenge. Work with me, and I'll protect you from him, and make sure no one can ever be put into your body again. Deny me, and... well, being a witch didn't exactly take away my more sadistic side. I don't think you want to see that."
"If I were you, I'd listen to her," suggested Marcel before starting to walk out the door.
"You're gonna leave her in this room with me?" asked Vincent. "Where's the blonde from yesterday? She was nice."
"Cami's gonna be your reward, if need be," said Catalina, gesturing for Marcel to just go ahead and stay. "If you want a chance to talk to someone who'll be very sweet to you, then let's get this over with."
"First of all, what do you want with Eva?"
"To keep it simple— I want to defeat her and show the other witches that I'm more capable than they are. I'm trying to become the Regent of the Nine Covens so I'll have the power to resurrect Kol."
"And this Kol... is your boyfriend?"
"Yes."
"You're doing all this... for him?"
"Yes. Any more questions, or can I take a turn?"
Vincent heaved a sigh. "I'd rather not get thrown into a wall again. Guess I have no choice. Eva Sinclair... she was my wife. When they put her in the Fauline Cottage, I never thought I'd see her again. How is she out of there?"
