Catalina wanted to kill Davina.
Esther was really getting on her nerves. This new job. Making her have a shift on the very night she'd instructed Kol to take Davina on a date to Rousseau's. Knowing that Catalina didn't have vampire hearing to eavesdrop anymore. All she had to rely on was body language.
And she didn't like Davina's.
The girl leaned close to Kol, obviously interested. He was far more rigid, just getting done what his mother asked of him. He didn't flirt, but Davina seemed to think he was, because she kept smiling.
"You're glaring at them," said Finn, who was sitting at the bar while she cleaned some of the glasses. "Perhaps make it less obvious that you know them."
"Don't even get me started on you," said Catalina venomously. "I thought we were friends, Vincent. And yet, you've been treating me like crap for the past four months."
Finn sighed. "There is no room for friendship here. I have a mission that must be completed. I must do it for my mother. She has the right idea."
"An idea she hasn't fully disclosed to me. This isn't fair to me, Vincent, I can't be expected to do her dirty work without being told every last detail."
He just sighed. "You will come to know it all, in time. Don't worry."
"What about Sage?" she asked. "Why isn't she here?"
This made Finn look more uncomfortable. "I tried to find her. I searched... everywhere. I worry that she had already been sucked away by the time the Other Side fell apart. I would hope that she went to peace. But I worry that may not be the case."
Catalina's eyes flickered to Kol and Davina again. "Why Davina?"
"My mother believes her power will be instrumental to her plan."
"And why have me talk to Klaus?"
"My mother believes—"
"Just stop," interrupted Catalina. "For one second, tell me what you think. Don't let your mother dictate every last opinion you have."
Finn huffed. "Well, I believe what she does. Perhaps you can make ease Niklaus's anger, to prepare him to accept my mother's bargain."
Catalina shifted uncomfortably. "I don't like having to be near him. He scares me. He's hurt me many times, Vincent. He's the reason Kol and I couldn't be happy. Now I have to watch him with that girl... I'd like to wring her stupid neck."
The two watched as Davina got up, going to answer a call. Finn got to his feet, going over to Kol. Catalina casually went over to pick up some trash from other tables so she could listen in.
"Find out what she's hiding," said Finn sharply. "You're taking too long."
"It's hard to woo someone you've got no interest in," said Kol. "It requires a certain charm and personality that I've already left reserved for someone else. You obviously know nothing about that."
Finn cast him a tight-lipped smile. "Our mother wants answers, and if you can't get them, we'll do this my way."
"Oh, what are you gonna do? You gonna bore her until she can't help but tell you everything?"
Catalina snickered, and Kol looked over at her, winking. Finn said, "If you want to find out if someone has a weapon, you provoke them into using it." He then cleared his throat, speaking to all the people there, "If everyone could please start to clear out, there's going to be a private party happening in here soon. Thank you."
