SOTC- Oh no! • Marina and the Diamonds

I paced back in forth, running my hands through my hair.

No, no, no, no, NO!

I heard a knock, causing me to look over to the door of the bathroom.

"Love, are you alright?" Harry called out through the door.

Shit, I didn't lock it.

I grabbed the pregnancy tests off the floor, stuffing them into the drawer of my vanity and closing it. Right as the drawer hit the wood Harry's large hands turned the doorknob, coming inside. I probably looked like a mess, but he couldn't know I was pregnant. Not yet.

"Aria, what's wrong?"

"Uhhh, nothing Harry," I giggled, "I'm fine!"

I quickly walked past him, but he grabbed me by my forearm and spun me around, much like he did at Ikea.

"Babe, what's wrong?"

"Harry, you're being ridiculous. Nothing is wrong."

"You would tell me if something is wrong, right?"

"Of course."

"Because we really need to build trust, right?"

"Harry stop treating me like I'm 5!" He let go of my forearm, but I stood there looking at him.

"Promise me Aria."

"What?"

"Promise me that you're not hiding anything from me. Promise me that there's nothing wrong, and that if there was anything wrong you would tell me."

I sighed.

"I promise," I replied, walking out of the bathroom.

I knocked on the door again, quietly yelling at myself for even being here right now. There was no way I was in my right mind.

My mother opened the door.

"Aria, come in dear!" She greeted, opening the door wider to let me in. I started walking into the house when she stopped me, and cleared her throat.

"Your shoes," she whispered under her breath.

I rolled my eyes, taking off my sandles and placing them in the mud room. My mother led me into the sitting room, placing some sort of brown appetizer in front of me.

"Aria, try some of this," she pointed at the strange looking meat- appetizer thing. I racked my brain for some sort of excuse not to try it, as I knew a simple no would never suffice.

"Is it gluten free?" Aha, that was perfect.

"What?"

"I found out last week that I'm gluten intolerant, oh yeah. I get really bad headaches."

"No dear, I don't know if it is."

"Well it's better to be on the safe side then," I smiled sadly.

"I really wish I could've tried it. It looks delicious." I said, dragging it out to make sure I seemed believable.

"Next time I'll make something gluten free, alright?"

"That sounds wonderful, mom. Thank you!"

"So why are you here today, Aria."

"Mother, I'm pregnant."

My mom quickly clutched the edge of the couch, staring at me.

"Are you- are you sure?" She stuttered.

"Yes."

"How did this happen?"

"I think the same way all babies happen, but that might be a wild guess."

"When did you find out?"

"Today."

She smiled. "Am I the second to know?"

"What?"

"Well Harry knows, right?" She bent down and looked around, as if somebody else was in the room as she whispered,"Is he the father?"

"God, mom. Yes, he's the father."

She sat back up, straightening her dress out.

"Harry doesn't know, and I don't want him to. Not yet."

"What do you need dear?"

"What am I supposed to do?"

"I'll schedule an appointment for you, for tonight."

"Mother, there's no way I'll get an appointment this late! It's already 3!"

"They will if there's money involved."

She sat up, walking out of the room while pulling her iPhone out of her dress pocket and dialing a number.
