A phone call and comfort talks. (Part 1)

The girl walked out onto the deck making sure to close the rain slider behind her, she sat down on the deck with her legs dangling over the edge. She took her phone out of her pocket and dialed her best friend's number.

''The number you are calling....'' She ended the call and looked out at the night sky, watching as the stars dotted the scene and the moon's glow made the sky look at peace. Her phone rang causing her to break her trance with the sky, smiling she answered her phone and held it by her ear.

''Hey.'' She spoke first and she swore he was smirking.

''Missed me?'' He asked teasingly as she let out a laugh.

''Very much, I mean it's fun over here but it's like everyone is forcing it around me'' She paused and checked over her shoulder, there was no one in sight.

''Everyone's nice and I've met a few of them but the rest are awkward and not really inviting J.'' The boy sighed as he heard the girl talk.

''And what about Sam?'' The boy asked knowing how the other boy felt towards his best friend.

''Sam? I- He's trying to make everyone like me and we both know why, I just wish that it could be the three of us; you, me, and him just like old times.'' The boy couldn't help but agree to her words, remembering how close-knit they used to be right before he pushed the two away for the group he hangs out with now claiming them as his ''friends''.

The girl shook her head and then remembered why she had called him. ''J, ca- could we just talk about something else, please? I just want an escape from everything happening inside.''

''Yeah, sure Thena''

''So you know how the other day we were planning on doing secret Santa right?'' The girl, Athena, nodded before realizing Jackson couldn't see her. ''Yeah, of course, I remember.''

''I was wondering if we could do it together, I mean not just you and me but also our family's it would be fun seeing how well we know each other seeing we've been friends for more than 6 years.''

"I like it, we'll pick the names out tomorrow BUT you can't change your person J okay? I don't care if you use the 'but this person is so difficult to get a gift for.' excuse you will stick to that person.'' She said as the boy chuckled.

''Deal.''

''Great.'' Now it was Athena's turn to smirk.

''Alright, I'll get going before everyone inside thinks someone kidnapped me.'' They both laughed and said their goodbyes unaware of the 6'1 figure that had heard their conversation while looking for some drinks.
