A/N= This short story was the last short story I had entered for a short story competition but sadly got nowhere with it.

ENJOY!

Days became weeks, mornings became night but the atmosphere in the small town remained the same. It seemed as if things weren't ever gonna change, that this moment would be one on constant repeat; the moment of loss.

Footsteps echoed through the cold winter night as a huge dark figure lurked in the shadows, making his way up a cobblestone driveway and inside a house with warm yellow lights. Walking into the house it seemed nothing had really changed, the chairs left the exact way they had been, the food scattered in different places, and the glass vase shattered as if everything had taken place just yesterday but in fact, it had been 7 years since he'd left. 7 years since he'd last seen her; his daughter.

A million thoughts raced through his mind, thinking about the last time she'd smiled and called him ''dad.'', the last time she'd embraced him in a hug full of affection and pure love.

A hazy memory of her blonde hair and forest green eyes, she'd run over to him with a toothy-grin and gleaming eyes that hinted trouble as his wife had walked into the room with a frown on her face and an expression of fake anger, he watched as they had spoken a few words before his daughter came out with puffy, tearful eyes. He remembered as his wife had told her that she ''Was just joking with her.'' and '' To always tell her the truth.'', he remembered as they had hugged each other and pulled him into the hug as laughter had filled the air and lastly, he remembered the exact moment everything had changed; when his wife had been murdered and he had been framed while their daughter had been sent away.

It was time to find her again.
