His hands were covered in blood, blood that wasn't his. Knuckles white as fear and guilt consumed him the words 'it was my fault' rang through his head as his breathing quickened. A sob escaped his mouth followed by a bitter laugh as heads turned his way. I mean why wouldn't they after all he was sitting at the back of an ambulance doing nothing but waiting.

Waiting for what?

For the guilt to disintegrate into nothing but small particles of dust in the air and be replaced with hope, waiting for the news that his sister was going to be okay. His sister, his older sister with his mothers eyes and fathers nose was laying on the nearest ambulance in a stretcher as the doors closed shut. "Sir, we cannot allow you to go with us, immediate family only," His voice tightened as every fiber and atom in his body wanted him to scream that he was her family, not immediate and not by blood but he was her family and that should've been enough. . . except it wasn't.

He watched as the sirens filled the whispers along the street as the red and white lights reflected against the many eyes watching the scene. "Press A" to open the advanced game controls. The tip popped up on the screen as a groan left his mouth followed by a group of curses. "Nick, mum told me that you have to take out th—-" His voice interrupted her. "Yeah, Vi I know I have to take out the trash, I got it," He said as he threw the control onto his bed.

"Stupid game," He mumbled before getting up to follow his mothers orders without cauing a fuss as he thought about how emotional his character was presented as. "The dude has a mission and he's wasting his time weeping over a dead body," But deep down he knew how similar the pain would be, that the loss would be unbearable if he lost his older sister and the thought of her death. . . no, he wouldn't allow that day to come and until then he'd protect her from all the dangers in the world because she was his everything.

His guiding light and mother, his annoying older sister and first friend, his partner in crime and his rom-com buddy. He wasn't planning on losing her anytime soon.
