The house was surrounded by silence, walking up I could hear the faint cries and pleads to come back. Walking inside, I meet the faces of my uncle, aunt, and cousin sister; all overwhelmed with grief and loss; the loss of their son and brother.
Confusion crept onto her face, at the moment she hadn't realized what exactly had happened. Memories of the day came back, the tears and hugs given, the mixed emotions in the atmosphere.
The day had been blurry like a faint mist had surrounded the day and only that one memory had clung onto her brain. She remembered her cousin, not much of him but of what she had been told about him, she knew how much he meant to her mum; after all, he was her favorite nephew.
It had been years since he had left the world, but he was always remembered whether through things that he had been present at or by the simple things he had done. She loved the things about him, how he played one particular song to cheer her twin sister up as a baby or take care of them and just love them.
She knew why he did what he did and she did miss him but she knew he was in a better place, watching those he loved and treasured.
