Five enforcers, one seated at a table as the other four have their eyes locked onto our people. I drop down into the opposite seat as the one across me rests both his arms on the table, still keeping on his helmet and mask.
I do the same.
"Your people can relax, Carson. We have an agreement-"
"That was before you robbed a store top-side!"
I lift my hands in defense, "Wasn't supposed to be found, though that comes down to why I called you here. Kiramman, it rings a bell?"
He nods slowly, "In way over her head."
"Or she is just doing your job better than you? After all, if it weren't for her I would have gotten away with what I wanted," I then drop a pouch of coins on the table, "For all the damages and arms I stole. It should cover it."
He sighs loudly, "You may be helping us find shimmer, keeping our people alive where they could have died but one more stunt like that and I will not be able to save your skin. Marcus is already on my case about it."
"Then I apologize."
"Hmm," he then gestures with his head as the rest of his people also relax from their stance, "Then why did you call me here for? Another lead?"
I shake my head, "It's about this girl scout, she was relentlessly chasing me and I was surprised to see such diligence amongst the enforcers," then leaning in closer, "A mask, I lost it topside and am willing to bet you have it in some evidence locker."
"Kiramman didn't report anything of the sort, she probably has it," he then tilts his head, "What are you planning to do? This is the councilor's daughter, I can't do anything to her, and if you as much as touch her once the under-city will be full of enforcers searching for you."
"I just want the mask."
"I can't take it from her, Marcus will be suspicious if I ask him to collect it for me as well."
Then with a sigh, pulling a note from my under my jacket, "Then would you somehow give this to her?" I ask, "I promise that nothing will come of her, if anything I will wrap her up in a nice ribbon and send her on her way after I get what I want."
He grabs the note, putting it in his pocket, "Leave our names out of it."
I nod, "I just need her to understand that despite my actions, I am on your side. How else are we ever going to unite if there are people down here that would rather see you all dead?"
"Cause for concern. The last thing we want to do is coming in here and having to kill anybody."
"Then we understand each other," I state, then gesturing for Cal to bring in the bag, "Also, the things I didn't end up using. Spin a tale of finding it tucked away in some sewage duct, you'd be surprised how many people use it as a dead drop."
One of his people then grabs the bag.
He then asks, "And any reports on Shimmer?"
I proceed to tell him of all our operations. Things that we are seeing happening, with that a request for me to have an easier way to reach top-side. Business is expanding I need to be able to meddle with their plans if they were to do something in Piltover... cause we all know the undercity is not really a part of Piltover.
Then getting some information on possible ways to do things, the fact that a convoy will be coming from the undercity. I can tag along with them just by mentioning their names on progress day and I should be able to get in no problem.
As for looking at the part, I am just going to have to take what I need... though I somehow forget to mention that to him.
No point in telling him anything else, we tried once. Saying who was behind it all yet they never listened to us because we don't have enough evidence, we even told them about Marcus but taking that risk... would be futile.
What if we are right? Marcus can just deny it and keep the information from reaching the council. So our hands are in a bind and we can just hope that he somehow slips up.
They then leave us. I stay at the table as all our hideout heads sit at the table.
"We have had some issues with shutting down operations," Tek says, "Shimmer has been creating some monsters and we lost two people just trying to kill one of the fuckers... they are seriously making it harder and harder on us."
I nod, "That means we must be annoying them quite a bit," then looking at the next one, "Henry?"
"We found a trace of this Rud guy. One of the factories we were scouting out had a man of your description," he then crosses his arms, "Though he is constantly moving, we haven't had the chance to figure out a pattern."
"If it gets too dangerous, pull out," I state, "I will find him eventually. As for the state of the hideout?"
"Still getting our feet off of the ground, but formidable to hold out against an attack."
Cal then says, "The rest is the same, we have been keeping it quiet for a while now. Preparing for any issues on progress day. I have a feeling that a lot will go down, my gut is practically screaming it."
Then Rael, "We all feel it."
I nod, "Thanks for making time, Tek and Henry. I know you both are very busy."
They both smile at me, "Anytime."
I nod again, "Stick around for the rest of the night, I have an errand to run and then I am going to ask that the four of you accompany me tomorrow... we have something that needs addressing."
