I left everything home, no point, I saw the enforcers and knew that I stand a bigger chance of losing that just because they hate us down here. Rather just walk around empty-handed - less chance of them trying to pick me apart to see what a bottom feeder would have on him.
Grabbing the shiv from under my bedroll, I head to the door taking the skeleton-like steps to the ground floor. All in all, I am just happy I could have seen him... even if it was for a short while. He probably only dropped by to make himself feel better.
That he didn't just leave me for dead - yeah, at the very least I can survive.
But I am aware... that everything is about just staying safe. A lot of people put that emphasis on it as if that is all we can do, that surviving and staying safe is the goal at the end of it all and I just hope that it will change.
Though if we die, we blame it on them up there. Because why would we fight amongst ourselves?
And what if I do find myself in that situation, is it my fault for not hiding?

I somehow managed to end up hiding with the four of them, I was just roaming around and for a moment my spirits dropped into my boots as I was hauled off. Panicking up until they told me to stop squirming.
They could have just tapped me on the shoulder other than dragging me out of sight... but with them roaming around on the streets maybe I am the one overreacting a little bit. Watching Vi practice against the boxing machine I sit on the floor at one of the corners.
Powder and Mylo at the shooting range and Claggor leaning against the wall opposite of me.
Mylo then asks, "Remind me why we even bother with this dump?"
"Vander said to lay low. Enforcers never come down here, so this is as good as a place as any," she steps back wiping the sweat off her brow.
Claggor then asks, "Oh, what's the matter, Mylo? You worried Powder is going to beat you again?"
"Hey! If she didn't keep fixing these things, I wouldn't keep missing."
Powder then appears as she plugs in the shooting range, making Mylo almost jump out of his skin due to her sudden appearance. I then glance over at Claggor and Vi, "Doesn't really explain why I ended up being here."
"Figured it would be just as bad for you out there," she states, "I wouldn't want any of us being the reason that you end up getting hurt."
I tilt my head to the side with a sigh, "Righto, this sounds like an awful lot like not trusting me with myself," I arch my brow at her.
Claggor then chuckles as he lifts his shoulders, "I guess you are right."
Rolling my eyes, I lift my arms behind my head as I rest against the wall, "Won't find me complaining. Roaming the streets on my lonesome is much worse than having to spend some time hiding from the Enforcers."
"Are you complaining or not?"
"A little bit of both," I smile at her before looking back at the shooting range.
Mylo proceeds to miss every shot.
Vi then removes her gloves, "You guys know I wouldn't ever take you on a job you couldn't handle, right?"
"Are you kidding? That was the best job we've ever done," Mylo says with wide arms, continuing to shoot the makeshift gun sideways, and proceeding to hit jack, "Maybe we shouldn't take Powder next time."
Powder then pouts at him as she proceeds to land every shot, which is quite terrifying considering that she seems to be the cause of a lot of things going badly. Then turns to Mylo with a mocking expression.
I only barely manage to suppress my snort.
Mylo then sides next to me, speaking in a whisper, "How come you knew you couldn't do it but she is still relentlessly trying to chase it?"
I notice Vi's gaze on the two of us, I only sigh, "You think Powder would let Vi leave her, besides it would probably kill Vi if she had to force her to stay. Those two are inseparable... I thought you of all people would know Mylo."
"Not what I meant by it."
"Well, that is what it comes down to-" I stop as I notice Powder staring through a crack in the window.
"Hey, guys? You should see this-" her words are cut off as a body flies through the glass. Landing on his back he rolls over to his stomach as he is knocked out cold.
I instantly jump to my feet, I reach in my pocket as I put the heirlooms in my mouth. Tasting the iron in my mouth mixed with the dirt. I then freeze in fear as the enforcers step through the broken glass.
Heading to search me first they find absolutely nothing of value, I only hid these because I don't want to lose them. I notice Powder's gaze towards Vi, they must have something on them. I feel my heart sink even further as my mind goes blank out of worry.
Claggor turns off the light, I dash past an enforcer slamming my foot in the back of his leg, forcing him to his knee as I jump over his back behind the counter. Mylo shooting at them with little balls as one of them catches a metal sheet with their head.
I dash towards the door, leading the pack as we dash away. Running down the street only to see two enforcers pinning someone to the wall.
"We're kinda fucked," I then turn towards where we came from only to hear a whistle and the rattle of metal as a ladder near us drops down.
A small face peeks over from an overlook, "Over here."
Vi leaps first to climb up the ladder. I help up Powder as I jump up behind her, only for me foot to be grabbed by the enforcer. Vi grabs me by the collar, kicking the ladder down. Throwing her arm around my neck as she pulls me over.
Dropping on my shoulder, she offers her hand, "Thanks," pulling me up as we enter the pipeway.
"You really need to hide those crystals," Vi says to Powder, then looking over at her shoulder to me with a smile.
"Yeah, no shit."
