Knocking on a door, a shutter slides open as the guard peeks through. I stand at the back with my hands dug deep into my pockets. His gaze lingers on me for a moment, before the shutter shuts and the door being unlocked.

Vi then remarks, "The one place all the secrets are spilled."

As they step inside, I am stopped before I could enter, I notice Vi's smirk.

I then look at him, "This about last time?"

He then steps closer into a whisper, "I don't recognize that mask, we don't just let any of your kind through here. If you can prove that you are who I think you are I will let you go through to speak to her."

I then take a step back, "Another time then."

*** Vi POV ***

"I owe you," I turn but stop in place instead, "What about (Y/N)? Have you heard from him?" glancing over my shoulder.

"I'm sorry but no. He disappeared that night as well, everyone thought he died along with you that night."

I shake my head, "He wasn't there... he tried to warn us but-"

Digging my hands back into my pockets as I leave through the curtains. He can't be dead, if there was something he was always good at it was staying out of sight. Shutting my eyes with a sigh - or at least I hope you are alive and out there, somewhere.

*** Normal POV ***

Still hovering outside, the door swings open to reveal her stepping outside with her hands dug deep into her pockets.

"She got you out and already up and running?" I ask, staying in the shadows.

"What do you know?"

"A lot of things," I state, "I know that you are going to get yourself killed, though I wouldn't blame you."

Then closing the distance, grabbing me by the cloak, I don't flinch at all, "Stop acting like you understand anything about me. I don't recall ever meeting someone like you, but since you know so much, where is Powder, where is (Y/N)?"

"You wouldn't like my answers."

She pushes me back, turning to leave, "Useless."

Yeah... I am useless, then and now.

I am honestly surprised she didn't try to knock off my mask. Then watching her leave I hover in place for a moment waiting for Caitlyn to come out. I shut my eyes, pulling the mask from my face as I watch the inside of it with a pained gaze.

Sorry, Vi. I don't know where I am anymore, besides it would be best if you thought I was dead. Chances are it wouldn't hurt at all, chances are seeing what I become would just make you hate me just as much.

Because despite fighting back since that day, they walked all over us. I couldn't do anything to stop them then, and even now I feel powerless. Useless. This is the way things have to be right... I would want to see how you'd react honestly... I finally grew that backbone, instead of running I am fighting.

Just too little, too late.

Waiting for just another moment, Caitlyn finally comes out, "Where's Vi?"

"Willing to bet she is after someone. Have a rough idea where to start looking so let's get going and make sure she doesn't die the moment she stepped back into the under-city."

"Know her?"

I nod, "A little too well."

Leading the way as the then asks, "Then why keep your face hidden, wouldn't she like to know if you were someone she knew in the past."

"I am the last person she wants to see. After all, I am here to help you, and considering I still have a guilty conscious she comes second. Though don't go tell her that, that would just piss her off even more."

Besides, she wouldn't know if it was me anyway from my face alone. My name is dead in this city, nobody knows me all except for Xani, the Revenants and Ekko. They will never meet any of them at this rate, so I can just let him die.

Watching someone look at me through the corner of his eye, a familiar look about him. No doubt one of Silco's people that escaped and if he sees her she is screwed. I take a step back as I throw my cloak over her shoulder.

"Wait-"

"Someone is watching me, bear with it for a moment. Just till we get out of sight," she nods as I shoot my gaze towards him, making it clear that I noticed him.

His eyes narrowed but he then pulls his gaze away from me, turning back to his business. Just like the firelights, we have our reputation. We rarely show ourselves and for him to see me must mean he might have some suspicion that something will happen.

I hope it doesn't come down to it.

"How much longer are you going to hold me like this?"

Lifting my hand from her shoulder, then stepping away from her as we reach an alleyway, "For a shadow, you stand out like a sore thumb."

"Stop calling me that."

"We don't see enforcers often down here, it will drag attention. I just made sure that your trip to the undercity is a pleasant one."

"You are really pitching it to be a paradise."

"An oasis if you will," I chuckle, "You have seen enough all ready to place your verdict, it is hell down here. Yet it can always get worse, so much worse."

Hearing a scuffle around the area, I gesture for us to move out asses.  Dashing close after her as she zips past me, then turning into a walkway she pulls out the weapons and fires instantaneously.

I jump off the side as she disappears into one alleyway. Caitlyn jumps down as I peek my head through the alleyway, seeing if it was worth it or not but... chasing after her would just end up in another grenade to the face situation.

Then turning around to see Vi's arm around Caitlyn's shoulder, "Looks like it hurts."

"Make yourself useful and run after her for me will you," Vi groans as she holds her hand over the wound.

"They will be coming for us now," I state, then gesture for them to start moving, "If I see them I will draw them away from the two of you. Chances are if they see me they might stick to not chasing us."

"Big guy talks like he is a boogeyman."

Caitlyn then says, "Something like that as it seems."
