As she was leaning against the wall staring at the floor thinking anxiously what she would do, she suddenly remembered that Kith gave her a spare key to their house. She quickly ran back to her car and opened the driver's seat door, then she grabbed her bag on the other seat and rummaged her things inside. When she did not find the key, she flipped the bag over and poured all the things inside it into the seat.
“Please, please” she murmured, pleading, as she was searching for the key.
“Where is it?” she mumbled in a distressed tone when she could not find it in her things.
Then, she suddenly remembered something. She quickly lifted her hand and pushed down the sun visor of the car above her. There, she found the key tucked in one of the pockets. She took it and ran back to the house. When she got to the door, she quickly inserted it into the doorknob and unlocked it.
“Kith!” she called when she got inside, then she ran to his room.
When she opened the door, she did not find him inside, not even in the bathroom.
"Kith!" she called anxiously.
She walked back to the door to search outside, but before she reached it, she noticed the closet door was slightly opened. She immediately had a bad feeling.
She approached it and opened it wider. When she saw many of Kith's clothes were missing inside, a cold and heavy feeling grew inside of her. She quickly opened the drawers hoping she was wrong, but when they appeared the same, her chest began to pound.
She went outside and ran around the house. "Kith! ...Kith!" she called frantically.
When she did not find him in any of the rooms, she opened the door of the basement and ran down the stairs, but unfortunately, he was also not in there.
She held on a wooden table as she caught her breath. As she was thinking what she would do next, beads of sweat began to appear on her forehead. When she heard a distant voice upstairs, she quickly ran back to the stairs even though she had not yet regained her strength, but before she reached the floor, the last tread broke.
"Ahh!" she screamed as her foot got stuck in the broken plank. When she slowly pulled up her leg, she moaned and winced in pain. She started to cry as she crawled to the floor.
When she finally got out of the basement, she leaned against the wall and slowly bent her left leg. The bottom of her jeans was ripped and there was blood above her ankle. She cried again when she saw it, but despite the pain in her injury, she still forced herself to stand and walk limping to the window. Outside, she saw two men chatting near her car. She pulled a long face seeing it was not what she hoped to see.
Disappointed, she went back to the room and sat on the floor by the bed. There, she wrapped her wound with a handkerchief. Then, she took her phone out of her pocket and tried to call Kith again. When she pressed the call button, she heard a familiar ringtone inside the room. Bothered, she got up and looked for it.
