Hello friends, another chapter for you guys. Hope you like it. :)

She gulped down her glass of water and sighed heavily. It was just four still. She turned around to leave when suddenly she spotted a figure and jumped back in fear. It was Jay. She managed, "You scared me."

"Sorry," he replied.

"What are you doing awake Jay?" she asked, really wondering.

"I should be asking you the same question," he replied back.

"I just came to have a glass of water," she said, hoping to end this conversation as quickly as possible.

He looked at her not convinced and finally decided to shoot directly, "Hailey, what's wrong?"

She sighed again, not knowing what to say. She really didn't want to have this conversation right now. He urged her, "Talk to me."

"Jay, I can't do this now. Please," she said getting to the point directly.

"Just for your information, I know that you're hiding something from me. I don't want to call it lying but just know that I know," he said.

"There is a reason for everything Jay," she replied back.

"Honestly, I am worried about you. Are you okay?" he asked.

She looked at him, certain that if she said she was fine, she would be caught lying. She went with, "What do you want to know Jay?"

"What is going on with you, you are acting distant. But I can understand why you would do that. But something is bothering you a lot," he said, psychoanalysing her.

She had had enough of this already. Everybody was either questioning or advising her for something or the other. She started, "Fine, I'll tell you what's going on. You're not going to like it Jay."

"Let me be the judge of that," he replied back, his way of telling her that she better start speaking now.

"I am angry. I am beyond angry," she said.

"At me?" he asked.

"Yeah," she replied bluntly.

"Why?" he continued.

This was the cherry on top of everything. The way he was asking her this was getting on her nerves. How could he be so casual about all this? She answered rather loudly, "Because you bloody got shot again and almost died. That's bloody why I am angry and pissed off."

He looked at her with a neutral expression. When he sensed she was done he spoke, "Hailey, I didn't want to get"—

"You can't keep saying that all the time!" she shot back. "You can't say you didn't mean to."

He still looked at her, no particular expression on his face. She exhaled loudly, having gotten some weight off of her chest, though it was just the beginning. Finally Jay asked, "What do you want me to say?"

Now she looked at him intently, not sure what she really wanted out of this conversation. "I don't know Jay, but honestly, I can't keep going through this anymore. Whenever you are outside, my heart is always in my throat and when you do such things, it really takes a lot away from my stability and balance."

"It's part of the job," he countered.

Well, I am sorry. I really didn't sign up for this. I didn't sign up for my heart to be on constant fear and worry," she replied, meaning it.

"So what do you want to do Hailey?" he asked, hoping to get to the crux of the matter.

"I can't be so close to you Jay. There needs to be a distance," she said bluntly.
