Amelia Pov

I looked around at all the dead bodies in the hallway, i just stared. This was all my fault..
If I had just told Harry about everything.. about Dumbledore and Snape and Draco. if I had just been smarter, everything would of worked out fine.

I stopped at one of the bodies and dropped to my knees, a tear fell as I looked at the blonde boy. I moved his hair out his face.

Someone was walking towards me.

"Amelia.." the person whispered.

"Colin." I said, looking down at the body of the little boy who admired me, who had now died for me, my brother and this school. "He's dead.."

"Amelia..." she said again. "Remus and Tonks are dead."

My eyes snapped up to look at her, "what?"

"Bellatrix got them," she gulped.

I stared, "I have to go." I walked and walked until I was staring at the gargoyle statue. I said the password and suddenly I was in Dumbledore's office. There would soon be a painting of Severus Snape. I looked at the painting of Dumbledore, I yelled, "wake up!"

"Wake up, Albus Dumbledore!" I shouted, my voice breaking. And he opened his light blue eyes that once again looks down at me.

"Remus is dead." I wanted to cry but I wouldn't, not in front of him. "They are all dead." He stood up.

"Its not your fault, Amelia. They knew what they were getting into."

"How can you be so selfish?" I asked him.

"I'm not selfish, I'm dead."

I stared at him, "I want to be dead." Silence.

"Amelia, you need to go."

"what?"

"You need to go."  he repeated and i listened.

I walked out, walking back to the hospital wing, right foot then left foot, I stopped at the door. There was no whispers, no movement, nothing, no one except the bodies of fighters. Confusion filled my head until I heard laughter, and screaming from outside. Before I could even think, I ran. My brother and my friends ran through my mind, who was dead now? There was a large crowd full of students, parents and professors.

I heard Voldemort yell, "Amelia Potter! Where are you!" Bellatrix laughed as Voldemort yelled. I took one step of my right foot, then my left. Again. Again. Again. Many moved away so I could walk past. Everyone had made space for me to walk towards my friends and then past them. They called at me, quietly. I let out a quiet, almost silent sob when I saw my brothers body in Hagrid's arms. I then screamed, "No!"

"Amelia Potter," Voldemort spoke loudly. "Do you see your dead brother, who you have risked everything to save?" He turned to Hagrid, "Set him down! Right below me!" And he did. I looked at my brother, he was dead and it was all my fault. I didn't save him. I didn't save anyone.

"It's time to declare yourself, come forward and join me or die."

Silence.

"Draco," Lucius said loudly. He then quieted, "Draco."

I didn't look back like everyone else did. I couldn't. I couldn't see him again. I heard footsteps, I watched as Voldemort nodded, Bellatrix had a wicked smile. The footsteps stopped, right next to me. His pale cold hands grabbed onto mine, "I choose you, Amelia."

I turned to him, "I choose you too."

"SILENCE!" cried Voldemort, there was then a bang and a flash of white light. Silence was upon them all. "It is over! Don't you see?" said Voldemort. "Harry Potter is dead! Do you understand? He was only a boy who relied on others to sacrifice themselves for him!" Amelia stared, had she given up? she had nothing left. It felt like she was waiting for Voldemort to get to her at last.

"He beat you!" yelled Ron, and the charm broke, and the defenders of the school were shouting and screaming again until a second, more powerful bang extinguished their voices once again.

"He was killed while trying to sneak out of the castle grounds," said Voldemort, "killed while trying to save himself —" But Voldemort broke off, another bang, a flash of light, and a grunt of pain.

Someone had broken free of the crowd and charged at Voldemort. The figure hit the ground, Disarmed. Voldemort had thrown the challenger's wand aside, laughing at the challenge. "who is this?" he said. "Who has volunteered to demonstrate what happens to those who continue to fight when the battle has been lost?"

Bellatrix gave a wicked laugh. "It is Neville Longbottom! The son of the Aurors, remember?"

"Ah, yes, I do remember," said Voldemort, looking down at Neville, who was struggling back to his feet, unarmed and unprotected, standing between the survivors and the Death Eaters. "But you are a pureblood, aren't you, my brave boy?" Voldemort asked Neville.

"So what if I am?" said Neville loudly.

"You show spirit and bravery, and you come of noble stock. You will make a very valuable Death Eater. We need your kind, Neville Longbottom."

"I'll join you when hell freezes over," said Neville. "Dumbledore's Army!" he shouted, and there was an answering cheer from the crowd, whom Voldemort's Silencing Charms seemed unable to hold. "Amelia still lives!"

"Very well," spoke Voldemort, "If that is your choice, Longbottom, we revert to the original plan. On your head." The dark lord waved his wand. A unbroken window shattered, something that looked like a misshapen bird flew through the air and landed in Voldemort's long hand. He shook the mildewed object by its pointed end and it dangled. It was the Sorting Hat.

"There will be no more Sorting at Hogwarts School," said Voldemort. "There will be no more Houses. Will there, Neville Longbottom?" His wand was pointed at Neville, who grew frozen, the hat was forced iron Neville's head until it slipped below his eyes.

"Neville Longbottom here is going to demonstrate what happens to anyone foolish enough to continue to oppose me," said Voldemort, and with a flick of his wand, he caused the Sorting Hat to burst into flames. Amelia screamed again, Neville was aflame, unable to move, she could not bear it: she must act. Her wand was in her hand and it flew forward, taking out the fire, freeing Neville from the spell.

Grawp the giant then came moving in around the side of the castle and yelled, "HAGGER!" His cry was answered by roars from Voldemort's own giants. They ran at Grawp like bull elephants, making the earth quake. Amelia casted a spell towards them, protecting Grawp. Then came hooves and the twangs of bows, and arrows were suddenly falling amongst the Death Eaters, who broke ranks, shouting their surprise.

Neville had drawn something silver out of the hay, it was glittering, rubied handle — it seemed to draw every eye.

Amelia had ran to Neville, she looked at him, and nodded.

"I can't do it," he said.

"You can,"

"Amelia." He said. "Do it,"

"But your parents-"

"What's about yours?" Neville said. "What about Harry?"

He handed the sword to the girl as she said, "I knew you always belonged in Gryffindor." The snake had started to slither towards them. Voldemort yelled out but before he could stop what was happening, with one stroke Amelia had sliced off the great snake's head, which spun up into the air, and Voldemort's mouth was open in a scream of fury. The snake's body thudded to the ground at Amelia and Nevilles feet — Neville cast a Shield Charm between them and Voldemort before the dark lord could raise his wand.

There was war cries from all over, shouting and running into the Great Hall. Hagrid's yell came loudest of all. "HARRY!" Hagrid shouted. "HARRY — WHERE'S HARRY? I LOST HIM! HARRY!"
