"Hey again." I said walking into the studio.
"Hey, Geno had a family emergency so he left." He said.
"Okay, this my brother Amiri." I said.
"Wassup." Keilan said.
"Wassup." Amiri said.
"So I guess while we wait on him to come back you can figure out which song you wanna do." He said And I sat beside him flipping through my journal.
"Okay I think I got one, Play it again." I said and as he played it I hummed the lyrics to fit the beat so I can figure out how I wanted to sing it.
"Which song is that?" My brother asked and I passed it to him.
"Who hurt yo' sad ass?" He asked and I snatched my journal back.
"Same shit I said." Keilan chuckled.
"Haha so funny, ain't nobody hurt me, I don't get my feelings hurt." I said.
"Mm."He said. "Let me post a snippet when it's done and if people want it you gotta let me drop it." He said.
"Ion know bout that- Serayah post the damn song when it's finished and stop being scary." Amiri said.
"Okay, but if you post it and it don't sound right im beating both of y'all ass." I said going into the booth so I could record this song.
Once I walked in, I sat down infront of the mic and grabbed the mic with my journal in my lap.
"You ready?" He asked and I nodded my head as the beginning of the track played.
I took a deep breath and let it play until the beat dropped so I can start singing the lyrics.
"Calling your phone, you don't pick up. You ain't with me, are you with her? You call me crazy to think of. All of the things that I do, when you constantly do all the shit that I'm sick of." I started and he signaled for me to stop.
"It sound bad?" I asked.
"Nah, just the ending of the lil sentences make yo' voice go up a lil bit." He said.
"So like....calling your phone you don't pick up. " I demonstrated.
"Yeah do that." He said.
"Ight play it back." I said.
"Calling your phone you don't pick up. You ain't with me are you with her. You call me crazy to think of. All of the things that I do when you constantly do all of the shit that i'm sick of." I sung.
We were just repeating that same process over and over again for hours until I was satisfied with what I sounded like. It was frustrating because of the simple fact I was singing the song repeatedly.
