"Mommy why can't Amiri and Ai'Launi come? Serayah asked. It was Avontae's week to have her so I was taking her over his house. She doesn't really understand the differences because she's only 6.
"Come with you to your dad's house?" I asked and she nodded her head.
"Well....um okay so you see how me and your daddy separated?" I asked.
"Yes." She said.
"Now, me and Semaj are together and I gave birth to the twins with Semaj, but I gave birth to you with your daddy." I said. "So because Your dad is your dad, and Semaj is Amiri's and Ai'Launi's dad, they can't go with you." I explained.
"If you and maj are together, does that make him my dad too. Do I have two daddies?" She asked.
"I-you see because me and Semaj are together in the the same household, he acts as a father figure to you, but he's not your dad." I explained. Semaj treats Serayah as his own, but he knows his boundaries concerning Avontae, even though there's never an issue.
"Do you love my daddy?" She asked and I choked.
"Yes." I said. There's no bad blood between us and we'll always be family because of Serayah, we're great at co-parenting.
"Oh....Okay." She smiled kicking her legs in the passenger's seat and I pulled into Avontae's driveway.
I called him to come outside and within seconds he was walking out.
"You know you could've came in right?" He chuckled as he went to Serayah's side.
"I would've but I got stuff to do." Said.
"HEY DADDYYYY." Serayah cheesed as she raised her arms up and I smiled.
"Hey daughter." He laughed as he unbuckled her seatbelt and picked her up.
"See you later mommy, I love you." She blew a kiss.
"I love you tooo, be good." I blew a kiss before he closed the door.
"Tae why you do that." I laughed.
"Cause you ain't greet me." He bucked at me walking over to my side opening my door.
"You act like a big kid." I rolled my eyes getting out the car to give him a hug.
"YAYYYY." Serayah took her other arm from around his neck and put it around mines hugging both of us.
"Aht no ma'am." I let go and Avontae started laughing. "I'm finna go." I chuckled getting back in my car and he held my door.
"Ight imma stop, how you and the twins been though?" He asked.
"Good, what about you?" I asked.
"I'm Straight." He said.
"That's good." I said.
"I don't like you, bye." He closed my door walking away and I busted out laughing.

"Son Son you gotta chill out, you can't be fighting yo' sister." I heard Semaj say as I entered the play room seeing him watching them in the play pin.
"He get it from your mean ass." I said.
"I'm not mean at all." He said as I grabbed Ai' Launi.
"Did you feed them?" I asked playing with Ai'Launi.
"Yeah, I just finished. They gone be knocked out by the time we get to they doctor's appointment." He said grabbing Amiri.
"You think they should match today?" I asked as he followed me to their room.
"Uhhhh, nah." He said.
"You know sometimes I can't even believe that we had twins." I said and he chuckled holding Amiri.
"You and me both-." He got cut off by someone ringing the door.
"I'll get it." He said walking out the room while I found Ai'Launi's outfit for the doctor's visit.
"Bruh what the fuck, why you bring this nigga to my crib." I heard Semaj say as he opened the door.
"I wanted to see my grandkids, is that Amiri?" I heard his father say so that let me know it was his brother Jamar, and his father at the door.
"Uhoh, I'll be right back." I kissed her cheek sitting her down before leaving out the room to get Amiri.
"Is everything okay?" I asked taking Amiri from Semaj's arms smoothly.
"Well look who it is." His dad said.
"Excuse me?" I said scrunching you my face.
"You don't need to say shit to her, both of y'all can go." He said.
"I ain't even do shit- Nigga you brought his ass here where my babies at knowin' how I feel fuck you mean you ain't did shit." He said getting mad.
"Semaj- You gone do yo' own blood like this, I should've known when you betrayed Jay like this." His dad said cutting me off as I held Amiri.
His father feels as though him making a family with me is betraying his brother, but I don't get how. Semaj and Jay fell out long before I ever met Semaj. And I didn't even know they were brothers until that situation happened.
The most me and Jay did was kiss...literally that's it nothing further than and we were never a thing. I just wish he would let that go cause Jay was a possessive individual altogether.
"Real shit y'all really don't got shit else to say to me and you damn sure don't got no room to be tryna disrespect Sabrea." He said.
"We'll go ahead and leave." They walked to the car. "But Since you wanna talk about disrespect tell Sabrea bout that position you gotta take." His dad said getting in the car and I looked at Semaj when they drove off.
"Semaj what is he talking about?" I mumbled as he closed the door.
"He just tryna start some." He said going to the twins' room.
"Semaj....What position is he talking about?" I said specifically.
"He wanted me to take Jay position in the illegal ass business he got but I been told him no and I said that shit during the time you was pregnant, he just said that shit to get in yo' head. I wouldn't even lie like that I told you I wasn't including myself in the shit I used to do and I meant it." He said looking me in my eyes.
During my pregnancy and after he's kept his word and hasn't even gave me a reason to second guess that he's back to that lifestyle.
After being around him every day from my pregnancy to now, I understand him and he understands me even more now. ___________________________________
