Small steps in the right direction can turn out to be the biggest step of your life...

Catalaiya's pov:

Right now I was in my office, eating my lunch accompanied by Nayvee. She went out and got us some delicious chicken wrap with nuggets and sauces.

I heard a new notification pop up on my laptop and I put down the chicken wrap, clean my hands before clicking on the new email.

Nayvee groaned, "Oh come on, it's lunchtime. Enjoy your food, the emails can wait."

I usually don't open emails or read files on my lunch break but this one was from Leo and he always emails me the important stuff.

"It's from Leo," I says as I started to read it.

The email talked about a charity named 'Wellkind Charity'. There was an invitation card for a night party and our company was invited. Leo also wrote at the bottom that he and Kassy won't be able to go, so I would have to go in his place.

"What is it?" Nayvee asked cautiously. I turned the laptop toward her and she started to read it.

I grabbed my chicken wrap and continue to eat my delicious food. We also have some sprites as drinks.

"Oh I heard about that, "Nayvee told me, "They only invite couples and their parties are always private, far from the media."

"Couples?" I asked and she nodded.

"You'll have to bring Aziel with you or they won't let you in." She added.

I raised an eyebrow, "What kind of rule is that."

"And if you don't go, it will be a dishonour to the company." Nayvee pointed out.

Looks like I'll have to talk to Aziel.

It's been three days since we both sat by the pond and talked. Since then we only saw each other for breakfast as he was busy with work and he would come home after midnight.

"And it's tomorrow night." Nayvee reads out.

I have little time to talk to him.

----

Once home, I made my way to my bedroom. I kick off my heels, undid my belt, and remove the tie from my ponytail. I jumped on my bed and laid down like a starfish, looking at the ceiling.

I stayed in this position for a good ten minutes before I sat down at the edge. I put my phone to charge on my bed's table and then made my way to my bathroom. I took a warm shower, washed my hair and put on my pjs.

As I walked out of my bathroom drying my hair with my towel, there was a knock on my door

As I walked out of my bathroom drying my hair with my towel, there was a knock on my door. I dropped the towel on the bed before walking there to open the door.

I was surprised to see Aziel standing there, his hands buried in his pockets.

"Can I talk to you right now or are you busy?" he inquired.

"We can talk. I need to ask you something too." I replied as I stepped aside and he walked into my room, near the couch. He sat down and I sat beside him.

"Do you want to go first?" He asked and I shook my head no.

"It can wait,"

"Ok, well there is a Charity being held tomorrow and my company got an invitation for a night party-"

Looks like I won't have to ask anything...

"-I just wanted to ask you if you want to accompany me there." He asked firmly.

I nodded, "Yeah sure."

"What did you want to talk about?" He asked curiously.

"Right, do you want to accompany me to the 'Wellkind' Charity event tomorrow night?" I asked making him raise an eyebrow. When he realised what I was saying, he deadpanned making me chuckled at his expression.

"You got the invitation too?" He asked and I nodded.

"Leo got it but he won't be able to make it, so I'll have to go," I explained.

"Well now that this is confirmed, I'll go back to work." He says as he stood up.

"You won't stay for dinner?" I asked and he shook his head no.

"I was supposed to handle a mafia thing which was going to take a long time and I figure out that you would already be asleep by the time that I come back and I needed to talk to you today, in case you need time to think for tomorrow." He explained.

Oh...

"That's thoughtful," I commented.

"I need to go now. See you tomorrow."

He left the room and I went back to dry my hair. A few minutes later, I made my way into the kitchen where Alfred and Thalia was. They shifted their gaze on me as I approached them.

"I heard you two are going to a party tomorrow." Thalia smiled.

I nodded, "A Charity party."

"You can still have fun though," Alfred pointed out.

"I don't think so, most of the people will sit and talk about their status and finance rate," I stated. I never went to those kinds of parties but Leo and Kassy did and every time they heard the same thing from the same people.

"How about dancing? You can have fun in a slow dance." Thalia suggested.

"I never dance with anyone as I don't know how to dance," I admitted making both of them gasp.

"Seriously?" Thalia asked and I nodded.

"We need to change that," Alfred stated.

"Yeah, Aziel knows how to dance and I'm sure he'll ask you tomorrow," Thalia said taking me aback. He knows how to dance?

"I'll teach you," Alfred said coming forward. He put his hand in front of me and I put my hand on his.

"Now you put your hand on my shoulder,"

I did.

He lightly put his hand on my hips, "Now we move side to side."

We did.

He kept saying the steps and I followed them. I messed up a lot of times but he never gave up. He continues and half an hour later, I was able to do a whole step without messing up.

"Yaayyy!" Thalia clapped her hands, cheering at my success.

"Thank you," I said sincerely.

"No worry dear." Alfred smiled.

The fatherly love that I never had...
