Chapter 3: Crushing

Tianas P.O.V

I walk into the lunch room looking for someplace to sit. I see Callie waving to me telling me to come sit with her and Michael. Much to my surprise I see Ashton and Luke sitting there and Calum. What joy.

I sit down next to Calum since the only empty seat at the table was next to him.

"Hey," Calum says quietly smiling. I ignore him, which then makes him tap my hand. "Are you okay? Did I do something?" Calum whispers to me with a worried look on his face. I leave the table and run out of the lunch room.

I run into the bathroom to hide from him. I hear Luke, Ashton and Callie running after me. Callie runs into the bathroom since Luke and Ashton can't.

"What's wrong Tiana?" says Callie. You could hear the worry in her voice.

"Calum's girlfriend came to me today and told me to back off Calum." I say with my eyes tearing up.

"Do you like him?" Callie asks looking confused.

"No, but I don't want his girlfriend to ruin my life." I say letting a tear escape my eye. Callie stands there confused.

"Oh you mean Holly? She and Calum broke up like decades ago, she's just not over it." Callie says making me feel more calm. "Here." Says Callie smiling at me handing me my salad. We spent the rest of lunch in the bathroom talking.

I don't know why but as soon as Callie said Calum and Holly were not dating I felt happy about it. I didn't get it.

I sit in my room watching TV when my phone buzzed. I see a text from a random number.

~ Text from 687-989-1084
Hey Tiana it's Callie! Luke gave me your number. You wanna come with me to the mall this weekend?

I was surprised that she invited me to hang out with her, but I guess we were friends so I added her to my contacts.

~Text to Callie
Yeah sure see you then!

I put my phone down and go to sleep.

"Rise and Shine!" says Luke sitting on the corner of my bed waking me up.

I throw on a dark purple top with my black and white shorts and a pair of black converse. I brush my hair and leave it down. I do the usual; I brush my teeth after I get dressed. I don't know why, but I do. Then I put on some lip gloss and some mascara so I don't look like a total zombie.

"There she is! Ready to go?" says Ashton smiling.

"Yup I guess."

I arrive at my locker getting ready for first period when I notice that Calum is coming this way. I get scared and stuff my head in my locker. But he opened the locker right next to mine which sent a feeling of relief to me.

"Hey," I said a little nervous remembering what Holly had said to me.

"Oh hey Tiana," he says with a crack in his voice. I didn't know why he acted this way around me.

"Sorry I didn't know you had the locker next to mine," I say slightly laughing.

"Yeah," he says looking a little worried. You could see the sweat dripping down his face like he just ran a mile. His voice sounded nervous and shaky and looked scared.

"So, how are you?" he asks nervously.

"I'm fine," I smile back. "Hey can I ask you something?" I say, hoping not to make this awkward.

"Yeah sure," he says.

"Are you and Holly dating? Because she told me to back off and all and I didn't want her to think that there was something going on," I say feeling scared, not knowing how he would react.

"Nope, I broke up with her awhile ago, but wait are you dating anyone?" he says hoping I say no.

I was happy and surprised at the same time that he asked me if I was single. Was I starting to like him? Was he starting to like me? I didn't know anymore.

I went to the music room; luckily it was empty. I started to play the piano and sing a song I wrote called 'My Everything'.

"I've cried enough tears to see my own reflection in them, and then it was clear I-" I stopped singing once I saw Calum in the corner of the room watching me sing and smiling.

"I didn't know you could sing, Tiana," he says sitting closely next to me smiling.

"Um, uh, yeah I do it's just I don't like to sing in front of others," I say feeling scared.

"That's a shame you sing really well," he says smiling acting totally calm. To my surprise he grabs my hand and kisses me. I didn't know if I liked it or not. But I kissed him back and I felt something I never felt before. I didn't know what it was, but I didn't want it to stop.

"Calum," I whispered. "Why-"

"I like you Tiana," he says continuing to kiss me.
