The next morning, you woke up feeling a little worse for wear but nothing that a coffee and a hot shower couldn't fix. You shower quickly, and dry off before putting your uniform on. You dry your hair and style it, quickly curling it before pulling it into a loose bun at the base of your neck, a few tendrils left loose, framing your face. You quickly finished your coffee after applying some make up to freshen your look and make you look more awake. You didn't dare risk eating something as you weren't sure that your stomach could handle it. Your data pad guided you to your office, and you were met with a very chirpy Lily. Apparently your assistant was one of those morning people.

"Good morning Major Carbynia!" She greeted cheerfully.

"Morning, Lily. Do we have a run schedule for today?"

"Yes ma'am. Your day is pretty open, a gentle start, Major," She beamed, "You have a meeting with General Hux, Commander Ren and a few other officers. The meeting is regarding new weapon acquisitions and the companies being used. Then you have a meeting with Captain Phasma straight after. That's just a introductory meeting I believe. Your predecessor left things in good order."

"What happened to them? The person before me?"

"Oh...." Lily's smile faltered, "Uhh... He was... Terminated. By the Commander."

"Commander Ren?"

"Yes ma'am."

"Do you know why?"

"Commander Ren rarely needs a reason ma'am."

"Nova." You corrected, "Well. I know my personality can be vexing, so I guess I'll be avoiding Commander Ren best I can. I'd rather not be terminated." You get her a wry smile.

"Probably a good idea, Ma'a-, Nova. I wouldn't want you to be terminated either."

You chuckle at her struggle to let the ma'am go, you understood it. It was trained into them, but you had never liked it, and thus had chosen to disregard that particular piece of training. You prefer a more informal way of going about things. Especially with people you have to spend your whole day with. After a while Ms, Miss, Ma'am and Major get tedious. You spent the morning going through the paperwork from your predecessor and showing Lily a few things. The girl had minimal training, but you would teach her whatever she wanted to learn, so she could better herself if she wanted. Your role here at the Finalizer was much the same as your role onboard the Steadfast, and so it wasn't too much a jarring change of pace.

A few hours later, Lily accompanied you to your meeting with the General and others. She would take notes for you, even though the meeting was probably going to be a bit boring. It was good experience for Lily. You were introduced by Hux to the officers in attendance, and then you all settled. You watched as people began looking nervous, and as you turned you saw the doors to the conference room open, and Commander Kylo Ren entered the room. His helmet scanned the room, and you met what you assumed was his gaze before he sat down the other side of Hux.

The meeting began, and you were following along though you kept getting headaches spike through your skull before easing off. You hadn't ever had a hangover like this, and you were glad Lily was taking notes. It was pretty much just a meeting of formality, for which you were glad as you had barely listened or partaken. It felt like someone kept reaching behind your eyeballs and trying to pull your brain cells out one by one. You kneaded your temples with your thumbs and prayed for the meeting to end.

Eventually your meeting and your headache abruptly ended, and before you could be taken into another conversation with Hux, or perhaps worse still, Commander Ren. You left the conference room and headed straight toward Phasma's office for your next meeting after sending Lily back to the office to type up the notes for you to go over later. Your headache had completely gone by the time you got to Phasma's, which you thanked the Maker for.
