Author's Note: Welcome back to Hiding in Plain Sight! Sorry for the slow updates, I had a ton on completing qualification units, and frankly... I had writer's block. I couldn't write more than 4 words before losing concentration and motivation. I hope you enjoy this update <3
-Kylo-
The planetary agreement and treaties were signed, they had another planet in the galaxy signed up to the New Empire, under his rule. It meant good trade and supplies, manufacturing opportunities and young for the Stormtrooper programs. It offset some of the bullshit pressure Pryde had on his Empire with the planets he had taken - which according to his spies, were beginning to revolt as they were not receiving the supplies that Kylo's Empire provided and people were suffering. That would some what force Pryde's hand to make a move, and when he did, Kylo would crush him. Pryde had built his fleet, and his people, but Kylo still had a ruling majority. And like the ocean tides, you can't fight the flow. One way or another, the waves will crash the rocks eventually.
Now he could get back to his ship, and deal with Vicrul. Kylo had spent the journey back doing some deep thinking, and working on himself. How to handle what was tearing him up, and making him enraged, what he was going to do going forward. He was seething. He was trying hard not to show it, he was so angry with Vicrul, and at himself for feeling this what. His jealousy was like a poison, but he wouldn't allow it to upset Nova... So unfortunately, Vicrul would have to shoulder Kylo's rage. He had watched the entire surveillance. Vicrul had initiated, clearly living some Empress worship fantasy, but Nova hadn't said no... He couldn't be mad, but he was. It wasn't his place. But he wanted it to be. And he had reached his limit and this time, once he had made Vicrul understand why his name carved into her thigh meant to keep his fucking hands off, he would make Nova realise what she meant to him. It had hit him hard, he had tried to avoid, tried to push it away, tried to remain friends, or professionals. But Nova wormed her way in slowly but sure, had dug in, and now her her claws in his heart - and he wouldn't have it any other way. And Vicrul had to pay for this hurt of his feelings and his pride, not Nova. He'd never fuck up with Nova again if he could help it.
That was progress... as far as Kylo was concerned. Personal growth. It was as good as it gets.
Arriving back at the New Supremacy, Kylo walked through at a march, the Knights he had with him remaining behind him, Hux having scurried off to do whatever it was he had to do. Kylo rarely checked on him now. Hux seemed to have settled into his role, and was too fearful of the Knights... and Nova, to do anything stupid. If he was honest, Hux was probably more loyal to Nova than he was to Kylo. Kylo didn't care. Whatever got the job done. Ap'lek was one of the more attentive Knights who knew Kylo well enough to know when he was pissed, and he had seen the surveillance over Kylo's shoulder, but he hadn't said anything on the journey back, so Kylo gave himself a mental pat on the back for not destroying anything and keeping his shit together.
"Ap'lek?"
"Yeah, Ren?"
"Let's do some training. Make sure everyone is upto par, and ready for anything Pryde or the Rebels bring our way."
"I'll get the others, you getting Nova and Vic?"
"Yeah." Kylo nodded, "Trudgen is with Nova and Vic. Ushar is in Weapons R&D on Nova's orders, keeping things ticking over for her. Send one of the Knights for him. We'll all meet in the training suite in a couple of hours. I want to debrief Nova on this treaty, and see if I missed anything here as I know she had TIE patrols."
"Okay. I'll make sure everyone is there. I'll get Ush myself," Ap'lek peeled off their walk and headed toward the Weapons R&D labs that Nova usually worked in.
Kylo hated that she was back in her old job, he wanted her beside him always, but he got that it brought her joy, and she liked tinkering with weapons, and no one ran weapons R&D like Nova. She was an incredible dark force user and warrior, but she was also amazing in her role there, and always had been. Plus, whatever made her happy, he'd make sure she got it. Though he would personally prefer her beside him always, in meetings, on a throne, in battle, in bed. He walked into the Throne room, and smiled at Nova. However hurt her was that her and Vicrul shared this bond that meant they used one another like sex toys whilst maintaining their friendship, and yet didn't seem to want nor seek a relationship of any sort than that friendship, he couldn't ever help but smile when he saw her. Their friendship and bond was something he respected and despised in equal measure.
"Empress..." He stepped up the stairs to the Throne, his voice soft, his eyes locked on Nova, "You miss me?"
"Always." Nova leaned back on the Throne, and crossed one leg over the other, smiling at him, "But I could get used to this."
Kylo chuckled at her, "We'll get you your own," He didn't look at the Knights as he spoke, his gaze remaining on Nova, "Vicrul, Trudgen. Go ready yourselves to meet in the training suites, Ap'lek will fill you in."
"Yes, Master." Their unified response was followed by them leaving in sync, their steps matched until they faded, leaving Nova and Kylo alone.
"You sure you missed me?" Kylo walked over to the Throne, placed a gloved hand on either arm of the Throne, and leaned in, caging Nova in with his arms. His voice took a darker, warning tone, "Or were you too busy with your thighs wrapped around Vicrul's face, my love?"
