----Nova POV----

You arrived at the Blastech Byblos location a few hours later. You follow Hux off the transport, and remain behind him, taking his lead without a word. You wanted to get a better feel for Hux in a professional capacity. You knew in and out how Pryde worked, but you had only heard about Hux from Pryde and what limited interactions you had had with him. You looked up and watched as the Night Buzzard landed shortly as you and Hux left your transport, and you then watched as Commander Ren walked down the ramp, flanked by the Knights of Ren.

You watched as Commander Ren ordered the Troopers to guard the Transport and Night Buzzard, leaving you and Hux to be accompanied by the Knights of Ren alongside the Commander. This fact seemed to make Hux pale, but he said nothing. You couldn't blame Hux, their weaponry and armor made for an intimidating sight and feel. You found them fascinating. Their weaponry was clearly modified, their armor seemed to hold trinkets or trophies of battles past. You could sit and question them for hours, you felt no fear of them. You wondered who did the modifications of their weaponry and armor. Where they got certain trophies and damage to their armor and parts for their weapons. You shook off those thoughts and tried to focus on the job at hand.

Your job was in weapons development and research, as well as consulting on manufacturing. You hadn't done a lot of the latter when with Pryde as you knew that Hux's team usually did most of it, so you were looking forward to this new part of your role. You were shown inside by the Factory Manager, their board of directors was based on Coruscant. You listened as the Commander and Hux discussed what the expectations and needs of the First Order were, as well as what inventory was ready for immediate delivery and use.

Feeling as if you were surplus to requirement in a situation that was actually your job, you cleared your throat and the three men turned and looked at you. You may have less experience than the men in front of you, but you would not become just a trophy major who smiles and nods along. "I'd like to test fire the weaponry units on hand. I'd also like to inspect the melee inventory for quality. No offence, but your job is to sell, and this is a sales pitch. It's my job to ensure that the First Order only accepts what they deserve - the very best and most efficient weaponry the Galaxy has to offer, as well as minimizing the cost to the First Order. War isn't cheap, sir. As I am sure your profit margins will tell you."

"Uhh..." The man looked at Commander Ren, who said nothing, and then at Hux, who shrugged, though his eyes then burned into you, "Y-yes ma'am. This way."

You followed as you were led to a testing area, followed by the Commander, Hux and the Knights judging by the heavy boots behind you. You watched as one of each weapon was laid out on tables at one end of a long testing room, the other end was numerous and various types of targets for test shooting. Hux opened his mouth to say something, but quickly gasped and coughed as if his throat had closed him off from speaking. Commander Ren just stood, so you took this to mean you were to begin. You were a little confused why Hux looked a mix of intrigued and furious - had your predecessor not done this? It was after all, part of the role. To test and critique units before they were released to the Trooper masses. You wished you could see Commander Ren's face, it would help you to know whether you were vexing the man with the infamous temper.

Picking up a standard issue vibroblade, you flipped in in your hand, from one hand to the other. You flipped it so it changed from a stabbing position in one hand, landing in a slashing position in the other hand. You flipped in it the same hand into a throwing position and then launched it at a test dummy, it lodged in the chest.

"They're too heavy, cumbersome. They'll weigh on the Troopers belts. They need to be lighter weight. Being so heavy is also a waste of resources. Lighter will use less raw materials, and whilst being more useful and fit for purpose, will also lower the cost per unit. They need to be more efficient, physically and financially." You turned to Hux and the Commander, "That's my professional opinion on them, though I will of course bow to your expertise and experience on the matter, sirs."
