029:
Brandon 'Brando'Mchaba:
"You can't just leave, is it not strange that Kaygee would want to meet up in an abandoned area?" Qu curiously asked as I applied my roll on and fluffed my beard to make it appear neat. "Kaygee said he knows something and that he questions being watched, so an abandoned area would be perfect so he wouldn't get tracked."
"Do you hear how sketchy that sounds, Kaygee hasn't bothered contacting you for a four months let alone a month...especially after you've disappeared. Something ain't adding up here Brandon. "
"Oh come on Qu you're overthinking this, I'll be back."
"Nope. you're not going alone, I'm coming with you."
"Fine, I'm giving you two minutes to get ready."
Qu stood up from the position she laid in , as much as she looked like she was ready to pop, I still looked at her with so much admiration, in a month or few weeks from now I would be a father. I was going to have my own family. I snapped myself out of my little fantasy world and sent a quick text to Kaygee to tell him that I'd be arriving in 30 minutes. Qu walked in a flowery maternity dress and slippers, she had her curly hair in a high bun and carried a cute purse to match her dress. I raised my brow on the amount of effort she's put as if we were going to a restaurant.
"Hey, I haven't been out the house for a month and a half, I deserve to dress up."
"Okay fair share. "I said laughing at the dramatics of her faces she made. "Maybe if me and kaygee reconcile we could go to a nearby restaurant and celebrate."
"The detective said we're not out the house, let alone keeping contact with people because of Mandisa."
"Yeah but maybe Kgothatso could help us to bring down Mandisa and go back to our normal lives."
"Yeah probably so."
We quickly walked out the gate and into the car not wasting time to get to the location that kaygee has sent to me. The network slightly tripped and delayed us as we didn't know where to go. If it wasn't the GPS system it was the car being short of petrol. We took a quick detour to a nearby shell garage and refilled the tank. When it was filled Qu had sharp pains shooting down her spine. She brushed it off and said that maybe the baby was moving around.
"Man Brandon, I don't feel okay, Something is off. I can feel it at the pits of my stomach."
"Maybe it's just the baby, plus we near our happy womb escape time." I laughed it off, but without acknowledging that I too felt uneasy about this all of a sudden. Especially with our arrival being delayed that had me overthinking that what if all this delay was a sign...that I should not go.
Just when I was thinking about this meeting I received a timid message from kaygee asking us if we were on our way because it had been past 30 minutes. I asked Qu to type back a reply to say that we were on our way and how we were just delayed. Shortly after arriving to the designated area, I found it quite peculiar that there was no one insight. After helping Qu out of the car, we stood in the middle of nowhere with no kaygee in sight. "See I told you kaygee was playing a prank."
"But he said he was here -" I heard the sound of a gun cocking and I quickly looked to see that Mandisa had a silver barrel aimed at Qu's head. "Oh I think you missed him. He passed his regards."
"Mandisa." I gasped trying to conjure a way to get Qu away from the gun. "Molo baby , I'm back! Did you miss me."
"Mandisa, please put that gun down."
