The Next Morning

Atsumu woke up, blinking his eyes in the morning light shining through his window. It took a moment before he registered where he was, what day it was, and who was next to him. When he remembered about the championship today, his stomach turned with anxiety but then he felt a soft, black, lock of curly hair brush against his cheek and he looked up to see Sakusa.

The taller boy's eyes were closed, his long dark lashes brushing against his cheek, breathing softly. Atsumu's nerves immediately lessened a bit and he took a deep breath, a look of affection on his face. It had been a while since he had realized how he felt about Omi and, although he was positive the other only had platonic feelings for him, he couldn't help but still love him.

He loved him not despite, but because of everything that made Omi, Omi. He loved his sense of humor, he loved his carefulness around other people, he loved him when he was anxious and when he was doubtful and scared. Atsumu just hoped Sakusa knew that no matter what, he would always adore him.

After a little while the sun rose more and Sakusa opened his eyes to see morning light shining on Atsumu's blond hair making it an even brighter golden color, matching his gold eyes which were staring at the ceiling.

"You alright, Atsu?" he asked in a low, grovely morning voice.

Atsumu turned his head, looking at the other and smiling while starting to stretch his legs out.

"Morning Omi, and yeah, I'm good."

"That's good. You feeling well rested? Not sore?"

"Actually yeah, best I've slept in about a week." Atsumu said as Sakusa reached towards the night stand, grabbing his glasses and putting them on.

(NO BECAUSE MY BBY BOI HAS GLASSES AND I'M SO IN LOVE WITH THAT IDEA)

"There, now I can see you." he said with a chuckle, making Atsumu laugh. "Anyways, we've got a couple hours till we have to leave. What do you wanna do this morning?"

"Omi, ya can go home and do stuff alone for a while until we go! Ya definitely don't have to feel the need to stay here." Atsumu said, finally sitting up and crossing his legs.

"Really Atsu? You really think I'm gonna leave for the few hours we got until it's time to go?" replied Sakusa, rolling his eyes wholeheartedly.

"We'll I don't know, ya've spent so much time with me lately I thought ya might be getting tired of me. I'm a very needy person ya know."

"Atsu, trust me, if I didn't want to spend time with you, I wouldn't. I'm here cause you're my best friend and this is important to you so it's important to me." he said, sitting up as well.

"Okay, if yer sure! Hmmm, there's about 5 hours before you, Samu, Sunarin, and I gotta go. Wanna go to the park and just walk around? I feel like the fresh air would be good for me." Atsumu responded.

"Mmm, that sounds good. It's supposed to be nice out today too." Sakusa added.

So the two got out of bed, getting ready for the day. They took turns taking showers and getting dressed. When they were both finished and ready they were about to head out when Atsumu noticed a paper on the fridge under the magnet where he and his brother left each other notes.

Tsumu,
out at coffee shop with Rin and a couple others. Don't come cause we're planning something for you.
Don't get too anxious and be sure to eat a good breakfast and drink plenty of water.

Atsumu smiled at the note and shoved it in his pocket, heading out the door Sakusa was holding open for him.

I'm so sorry this chapter is pretty short. I've had quite a bit on my plate but you guys being so supportive and sweet it really keeping me going so thank you guys. You have no idea how much your kindness means to me.

Anyways, I'm pretty exhausted so we'll keep this note short and sweet. I love you all so so so much and I hope you always remember that it may feel like your so insignificant sometimes and that feeling sucks, but I love you, and you have people around you who love you.
