𝑊𝑖𝑑𝑒 𝐸𝑦𝑒𝑠 ~ 𝐴 𝑆𝑎𝑘𝑢𝑎𝑡𝑠𝑢 𝑆𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑦 (𝑆𝑘𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝐴𝑈)

Part 34 ♡︎

It was a surprisingly nice day for early spring, with no clouds in the sky and warm enough that the two walking to the park could ditch their coats.

They walked together, Sakusa pointedly avoiding the topic of the competition as to not make Atsumu more nervous. He bought them both smoothies from a cart on the street where they get drinks sometimes and Atsumu sipped on his with a smile. Sakusa looked over at him out of the corner of his eye and the expression on Atsumu's face made Sakusa smile himself.

"Hey Omi, thanks for the smoo- hey!" Atsumu said, grinning at the other boy and poking his dimples. "What's got ya so sunny looking?"
Sakusa just shrugged, giving the other boy a side smile.

"I dunno, it's nice out and I'm proud of you and I know whatever happens you'll still be my best friend so..." he said to the blond.

"AW OMI YER TOO SWEET." Atsumu cried, hugging the taller quickly. Sakusa just laughed and squeezed him back.

They continued on, passing people in the park and exchanging friendly smiles. They found a bench to sit down at and talked about classes and exams, remembering they were college students still.

"Hey, Tsumu-san." they heard a quiet voice say suddenly. The pair looked up to see a smiling Kuroo and a tired looking Kenma holding hands.

"Oh! Kenma, Kuroo! It's good to see ya guys!" Atsumu said, greeting them.

"Hey Sakusa, how are you dude?" Kuroo said, giving the black haired male a friendly wave.

"Hey Kuroo, I'm good, how about you?"

"What are you two doin' here?" Atsumu asked the couple.

"Eh, Kenma and I always go on coffee dates Saturday mornings. It was so nice out we decided to go for a walk too. Kenma's just tired cause he stayed up too late last night playing the game he programmed for his tech class." At this Kenma just rolled his eyes but smiled nonetheless.

"Oh shut up. I came to bed with you eventually didn't I? Well, we better get going cause we need to feed the cat but Tsumu, goodluck at the finals today. I know you'll be amazing. Suga-san invited us all over to watch it at his apartment so we'll all be cheering you on okay?" Kenma said to Atsumu, squeezing his hand softly before the two waved and walked away. Sakusa looked at his phone and then back at the blond.

"Okay Atsu, it's about time to head home to get ready." Atsumu took a deep breath and held it for a moment before exhaling and turning to face the taller boy.

"Okay, I'm ready. Let's go kick some ass." he said smirking.

To anyone else, Atsumu would have seemed like the most confident person ever, but Sakusa knew him well enough to recognize the glint of nerves in his eyes but he knew Atsumu was okay.

"Yeah, let's kick some ass." he said, beaming back and with that they headed back to the apartment.

Back at the Apartment
Osamu and Suna were back and when Sakusa and Atsumu walked in, the two turned to look.

"Ready Tsumu?" Osamu asked his twin.

"Ya know damn well I am." Atsumu replied, making Osamu grin and wrap his arm around his brother's neck, ruffling his hair roughly.

Atsumu walked into his room and grabbed his big duffel bag. He filled it with extra clothes, hair products, plenty of snacks, multiple water bottles, and his sparkling costume.

He also slipped his lucky bracelet that Osamu made him before his first competition on his wrist.

The blond made his way out into the living room where Suna, his brother, and Omi were standing, smiling at him and looking like the proudest people ever.

"Let's do this." he said to them.

Ya-hoo Boos!

Again, I'm so so so sorry this chapter was short. My last finals are tomorrow and I get out of school on Wednesday. We go crazy late this year but after the holidays I will be back to regular updates so thank you all for being so understanding and patient with me.

I hope you all have a wonderful week but even more so than normal. It's the week leading up to Christmas for those of you who celebrate it and for those who don't it's still a peaceful and happy time of year so please relax and treat yourself kindly. You deserve time to love yourself and take care of yourself.

I want you all to do something beneficial for your mind or body this week as your present to me. It could be relaxing and reading a book, taking a bath, singing when no one can hear you, or eating whatever you want because food is yummy and your body does so much for you. Please reward yourself for always being such a good person and working so hard.

I love you guys so much and I hope you all have the best holidays and ever.
