The next race day came, it had been a lovely Sunday afternoon. Light cloud cover, a lovely bright blue sky. Jordyn meditated inside her trailer, she took deep breaths making sure she was calm and ready to go, but there was a feeling that wouldn't go away and no amount of meditating was going to do anything. It was a feeling that she could not ignore. But the starting knock came. She had the trailer door drop and drove out.

As she drove out she was greeted by a swarm of press and paparazzi, she smiled and continued to drive. Making it to pit road, where she saw her dad and her mom. "You're looking a little queazy today, is everything alright?" Lightning questioned in concern.

"I'm fine," Jordyn replied with her usual smile. "I'm ready for today." Both of her parents gave her a confused look. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"You just don't seem like yourself." Her mom remarked. Jordyn rolled her eyes. Then a familiar engine hum came from behind.

"Well, well, well. It looks like the little champ now has herself a fanbase." Storm teased. Jordyn rolled her eyes again. Sally drove off, leaving the two alone.

"What do you want Storm." Jordyn snipped, "I don't remember asking you. Besides. The early two thousand's called, they want the emo back." A couple of chuckles could be heard from other competitors and their teams. Jordyn smiled at her comment.

"Funny you should say that." Storm retorted. "It's almost like you can read my mind." Jordyn glared at him before answering.

"I'm just that good at anticipating," Jordyn remarked back. "Good luck."  She drove off. She smirked as she got to her pitstop.

"Are you done chit-chatting with the competition." her dad joked. Jordyn chuckled and gave a nod. She wiggled her wheel on the pavement.

"All racers to the starting line. The Race is about to start." The intercom shouted. Jordyn drove off getting into the second position spot behind Storm.

"You know you need to start getting used to seeing this view missy." Storm smirked. Jordyn rolled her eyes and started getting focused. "You're dad got used to it."

"Do you do anything besides tease and make cars feel worse about themselves." She snapped.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to pinch your nerves there." He smirked again, Jordyn scoffed and waited for the green flag to wave.

All the racers watched as the flagger truck drove onto the platform with the green flag attached to their wheel. Storm and Jordyn narrowed their eyes in sync. The two watched as the flag fluttered down. Engines revved and ready to go and the sound of the horn and the sight of the flag. Once the flag dropped the race was on. Jordyn and Storm took off like bullets as soon as the flag waved. Jackson had known from the beginning that Jordyn would be a problem. But he could also see that she was like her dad in many ways. Even when it came to the way he would talk to her. He knew her dad would get up in wheels about the things he would say to him, but as of right now Jordyn wasn't having it. There would be moments when he couldn't stand the way she would talk to him. Guess he knew how the Champ felt those days. but he brushed it off because he had a race to win. He sped up to Jordyn coming bumper to bumper with her. "You know we could be friends if your head wasn't up in the clouds all the time," Jordyn smirked. "It's not like my dad was the same way." Storm's eyes narrowed.

"Are you trying to beat me at my own game?" He questioned. Hearing a chuckle come from Jordyn. "Are you really trying to beat me at the smack talk?" Jordyn chuckled again.

"I've been saving that one for a long time Stormy boy." She smiled. "You were the one that started it remember." He glared at her and the two came around turn four.

"Well, I guess you've just started this war mini McQueen." Storm smirked.

"You're on old man." Jordyn retorted.

It came down to the final lap the two were still bumper to bumper throughout the race. It was the final stretch. No one knew who would win the race and have the number one spot in the final race. The stadium was filled with noise and screams of fans cheering for the top two racers.

Jordyn and Storm came to the last one hundred feet in a flash the two determined to top the other. Both of them giving almost all they had. Until they crossed the checkered strip. the two stopped and looked at each other trying to figure out who took the race. So at that point, it was time to watch the replay. All the racers went to pit road to wait. Both Jordyn and Storm were anxious to see who won. As they waited something inside her was telling her that storm had won. She brushed the feeling off and waited. As the officials came out to the stand and announced the winner. And sure enough, Jackson's picture slid on the screen. The stadium aroused an uproar of cheers. Jordyn couldn't help but giggle at the shocked look on Storm's face at the decision.

When the replay was shown everyone saw Strom half an inch ahead of Jordyn "You know Jordy." Lightning chuckled. "He beat you by inches." Jordyn laughed.

"I happened to catch him at a jaw drop at the consensus." She remarked with a smile.

"Then I would go a congratulate him." He replied. Jordyn gave him a nod. Drove over to the Igntr pit stop.

"Congratulation Jackson Storm on the win how do you feel." Jordyn smiled. genuinely happy for her competitor.  Storm turned around to see Jordyn smiling holding her tire out.

"Thanks?" He questioned. "What with the tire out." She smiled.

"It's a tire bump. You hit my tire with yours." She shook her tire. He held up his and they bumped tires. "I'll see you next week Champ." She cheered as she drove away. He nodded and went back to what he was doing. She drove out of the Stadium being greeted by a lot of news anchors photographers and unwanted camera cars swarming her.

"Okay everyone back up," Her dad shouted as he came to her rescue. And the rest of her crew did. "No questions tonight." She smiled as she backed into her trailer getting ready to go home and rest.
