Daddy's Little Racer.

Chapter 21

Mack pulled up to the cafe, unhooking his trailer, as the door opened Jordyn backed up and drove to her cone to rest, She gave Storm a run for his money. Not very many cars could say that. She knew she could. All of Radiator Springs welcomed her back and gave her space. She greeted everyone with a smile, before parking it and sleeping for a while. 

"So she looked beat." Sally chuckled, "Hard race then huh?" Lightning smiled as he drove into the Cozy Cone office. 

"She went hard, wasn't going to make it easy for him." He replied. Sally smiled and drove around the desk. 

"Just like you Stickers." She chuckled, "She learned from the best and will keep learning from him too." The comment made Lightning smile. 

"Thanks, Sal." He chimed. Sally smiled back and kissed him. 

"Anytime." She remarked with a smile.  

"At least we'll have the week for her to get some rest." Lightning remarked looking towards Jordyn's cone. 

"Well, that's a fine way to get the season going." A voice cheered from behind. Lightning turned around to find Tex parked behind him. 

"Tex! What a surprise!" Lightning smiled, "Glad you enjoyed the show." tex smiled and drove in. 

"Your kid is everywhere, she has an incredible amount of sportsmanship that she shows." Tex cheered. "Not only did she throw off Storm, but she also threw off Igntr."  That comment put a smile on both Lightning and Sally's faces. 

"That's amazing." Sally cheered. "She is a trooper, she comes by it honestly." She looked to Lightning and smiled.

"I can't wait for next week then." Lightning smiled. Tex nodded as well. 

"I agree with that." Tex cheered. "Just thought I'd drop by and let you know about that, and I'll see y'all next week." Tex backed up and drove off. 

"You both know how to get attention." Sally joked. Lightning gave a small chuckle, he drove off to Flo's with Sally following. 

Jordyn opened the garage door into her room and began to back up. As she backed in she saw her parents drive over to Flo's, but at that point, she didn't feel like checking it out. She was ready to hit the hay, just as she started to close her eyes she heard a ringing sound. She turned to face where the sound was coming from. Her phone had just gone off. She turned it on to see who it was.  Her dad messaged:

"I'm proud of you, sport." The message read. It made her smile as she turned off her phone. She straightened out and parked facing the garage door. She could feel that her eyes were getting heavy, and no sooner than she knew, she was fast asleep. A luxury she could finally have after a long drive.
