After a successful day, Jordyn and the rest of the racing team went back to the training center to go and rest up a little before starting up training again. "Today turned out to be a pretty fantastic day." Jordyn cheered. She gave a big grin and couldn't wipe it off.
"Well keep it up you'll be climbing to the top of the racing ranks." Lightning commented. He was excited as she was. At first he was a little worried about it. Then things started to clear up for him. He could tell that her future was going to be bright, and really why wouldn't it. With the right training and coaching, she would be right at the top. "Making the next round of qualifying, will be a little harder than today." She looked over to him.
"You'll be there to help me, right?" She asked. He gave her a nod and a smile.
"I will be here for you every step of the way." He replied. "No matter what." He looked out the window, Fireball Beach was as still as ever, like how he remembered. Those days training with Cruz and seeing how much of a racer she truly is. He could see the same thing in Jordyn.
"Thanks Dad, you're the best." She replied. The pulled away from the beach and into the training center. The trailer door came down and Jordyn backed out of the trailer and moved so her dad could drive out. The two of them drove into the center, and went to the resting area. "Those three almost four hours of being on that track sure does a number on you." She blurted out. Her dad gave a small laugh. She looked at him and smiled. She also gave a giggle. Jordyn was getting a cool off and her dad sat and looked at all the pictures in the area. Most of them were pictures of him and Cruz and him and some of them were him and doc. It really meant a lot to him to see those pictures, they all brought back memories of his racing days that he had.
"Tex really went all out when he said he was expanding the place." Lightning remarked. Jordyn drove over to where he was parked.
"Is the Cruz?" She asked. Her eyes glanced over to him. He looked back over to her and gave a small nod. She than looked over to the other pictures and saw the ones with her dad and doc in the pits. There were some with the two of them in Radiator Springs at Willy's Butte. Smiling at the pictures she had only heard stories of Doc Hudson and had wished she could have met him. But he would have thought she was trouble. She giggled at the thought. She looked over to dad. who was still glancing at the pictures of him and Cruz. She knew she meant a lot to him, after all Cruz was the one helped him realize that he could be a coach and a racer to. No matter what conditions there were, her dad was always willing to make new conditions. " I bet you all had really fun and cool memories with each other."
He turned to look at her. "Yeah, we all did. I remember coming to Radiator Springs the first time. Doc thought I was nothing but trouble. Well most of them did. Then I guess tossing myself into a cactus patch kind of taught me a lesson on how to be a little ,ore humble to meeting new people. But also spending time there really taught me that life isn't a race. It's nice to slow down every once in a while. Your mother taught me that." He turned back to look at the pictures. She turned back to where she was looking.
"What makes a good story. Both my mom and my dad have one. Will I ever have a good story." She thought to herself. She took few more glances at the pictures on the walls. Then her and her dad drove out the resting area. Tex came and met them at the entrance to the center.
"Well, I'll say that race was spectacular to watch. It's nice to know that you weren't going to blow him out of the water." Tex remarked. Jordyn gave a giggle.
"I wanted to keep it interesting, I guess I did my job out there then." She joked back.
"I guess you did." Tex replied, "And you did a wonderful job too." He looked over to Lightning. "You and the misses did a good job on this one." He turned to go back up to his office and work on some more things for the two companies. Lightning and Jordyn went to the trailer to go to the hotel they were staying at. They got back in the trailer and Mack pulled out of the Center's driveway. They went to the hotel to rest and wait to see what the next day holds.
"You ready for tomorrow?" Lightning asked Jordyn. She looked at him and gave a small nod. She knew that she wasn't all that ready for tomorrow he could tell. She knew he could tell that she wasn't all that ready. "It's okay to be nervous." She smiled. "I was nervous my first time too." She giggled a little bit.
"But you knew you could do it." She replied. "You flew in the air, mind you. I'm pretty sure you are one of the most extra racers out there." She joked.
"Nah." He replied. "I think Storm would be more extra." The two of the laughed they knew with her skills she was ready for anything now.
