About six in the morning, Mack showed up with the trailer to haul Lightning and Jordyn to the training center. Jordyn and Lightning went outside to say bye to the rest of the town. "I'll tell you how it goes." Lightning said. He looked at Sally with a smile on his face. "I can feel it Sal." Sally looked at him returning a smile.
"I know you can stickers. I'm pretty sure that Tex can see what you can see." Sally replied. Jordyn drove around the town saying bye to them. Luigi and Guido drove into the trailer with extra tires. Jordyn looked at her dad and he looked at him. The two of them Drove onto the ramp Lightning looked out on the town. He smiled and the door closed.
"Rust-eze racing center, we're on our way." Mack cheered. Both Lightning and Jordyn were excited to be on the road. For Lightning it's always an adventure to be on the road, for Jordyn this was new. Being on the road was going to be a new experience, and Lightning could tell that she was really excited. Jordyn's smile could light up the whole trailer She looked over to her dad and saw the smile on his face. The two of them almost had the same smile. The whole trip was Jordyn and Lightning laughing and talking about things.
After hours of driving they finally got to the training center. Mack pulled up into the driveway. Lightning opened the door, both him and Jordyn drove out of the trailer. Tex greeted them at the door.
"Well I'll be, look who it is. If it ain't Lightnin' McQueen and his daughter Jordyn. Nice of y'all to stop by. Mack here told me you two were coming." Tex greeted. He looked at Jordyn and smiled, "She's almost a spitting image of you. She's also got Sally's body type." Jordyn smiled. She had never been complimented like that before. She didn't think that she looked like her dad in anyway, it was nice to know someone thought that.
"Thank you." She replied. "My dad has told me a lot about you and his racing days." She smiled at her dad. He smiled back.
"She got into almost on her own. I didn't force her into anything on my own." He joked. Al of them laughed.
"I bet you guys are tired come in." Tex motioned them into the building. Lightning, Jordyn, Luigi, and Guido followed the billionaire into the building. Jordyn looked at the big 95 and 51 in the entry way she looked over to her dad and matched the 95's together. She looked at the 51 she couldn't see anyone with a 51 on their doors. Tex took them down a hallway with a whole lot of pictures, most of them were of her dad, there was one that did stick out to her. It was of Doc Hudson, under the picture said that Docs was her dad's mentor, that's why her dad said Doc was like a father figure to him. She came to know Doc almost like a grandfather to her. Then she saw some more posts with pictures with words explaining the moment. Another picture caught her eye, a picture of her dad and another car with the 51 on her doors and on her hood. The title at the top of the picture read CRUZ RAMIREZ. She was one of the very many female racers to ever win a piston cup champion. She was being mentored by Jordyn's dad. She could tell those two started to get close. She remembered her dad say that Cruz moved to Mexico to race there. She knew he missed her. Jordyn was sure somewhere in Mexico Cruz missed her old crew chief.
"Dad?" Jordyn asked. Her dad looked over to her.
"What sport." He replied. She looked over to him.
"Do you ever miss Cruz?" She questioned.
"Ha. Not a moment goes by that I don't think of her. I just hope wherever she is She misses me too. Probably not as much as I do her." He replied.
"I think so too." Jordyn replied.
