„Do you think she's fine? She's slept for at least two hours now."

„I'm sure she's fine, just bit exhausted!"

„I am exhausted..." grumbled a rather tired voice. Lia cracked one of her eyes open. The three humans stared at her.

„O- oh Emilia- we just-"

„It's fine Jack, just slept late, how are ya kids? You seemed really out of it when ya crashed here." the hybrid answered, propping herself up to her elbows.

Emilia and the kids were in her house, in her kitchen, she finally managed to get some rest after dealing with the, uh, situation that had arisen.

Her body was human again, but just by a hologram, it was surprising how good she got at that. On top of the table her phone buzzed.

Much to her luck it was flipped over.

„We did?" the youngest one asked.

Lia tried to look confused. „Yes? Yesterday? You showed up to my doorstep sayin' yer phones were dead and if ya could stay over for the night, couldn't exactly say no could I?"

She had injected them with an amnestic, making them forget. Worked well she guessed.

The kids looked at each other like they were trying to remember. Miko's eyes lit up first. „Yeah! We are! We were sooo exhausted from our trip we could barely hold ourselves up, but luckily ol' Jack had a friend that lived close by! Thank for letting us crash here lady!" she piped up.

Raf caught on soon. „Ye- yes thank a lot for that, but, uh, do you mind driving us into town? We need to get home soon and..."

„Ah, no worries. Jus' gimme a minute to stretch mah joint's 'kay?" Emilia stood up from her place on the kitchen table, where she had apparently fallen asleep after carrying the kids to the couch and throwing a blanket over them.

Her ‚joints' cracked almost like in protest when she stretched her body, she sipped the half-empty coffee and grabbed the pick-up car keys from somewhere.

Leading the kids to the garage she picked up on barely there scratching behind the red rock wall and unlocked her car.

„That's a really old car!" Miko exclaimed.

„Belonged to mah father." Lia said, sitting behind the steering wheel.

„Don't you own the mechanics shop that was broken in a while ago?" Raf asked, looking at you from behind Jack.

„Yeah I do. Vince and his jackass of a cousin thought destroyin' mah workshop would make me pay for beatin' their asses." you slammed the door shut. „Didn't work out well for them."

„That's so cool!" Miko shouted, making fist pumps at the air where she had space. It was a bit cramped for four people in the pick-up, but they managed.

It took a while, but soon enough you brought the kids in the center of Jasper. „Bye kids!" Lia smiled, Jack closed the door of the car.

„Thanks for driving us back Emilia. We'll walk the rest." Jack said through the open window.

„Yeah, thanks!"

„Couldn't 'ave you kids trekking back here, see ya around." Lia looked back and drove out of the parking lot. She drove back home, looking back not once.

It's been hours, she hadn't checked on the ex-wrecker, the kids and Stars' yet.

Not getting out of her car soon enough, she slid the garage door shut and bridged into the workshop. It was a lot easier than just opening the entrance and getting through.
