Hugo's POV:
• • •
After I had caught Goggles from busting his head open after he did his freaky adrenaline rush, I had sat there stunned for several minutes. My knees pressed into the cobbled stone pathway roughly, my leg only a couple of inches away from the dead man's body.
Cold, deadening silence rung through my ears as I looked down at his scarlet stained face, a few freckles peeking through the bloody mess. His face was white and twisted with pain.
And somehow, that pain tore right through to me almost as if it were my own.
Fear still coursed through me as I looked down at him, holding him in my arms carefully, half-afraid he'd die any moment.
Labored gasps then caught my ear as I pulled myself out of my new shock, Yong's whimpering sobs and voice working hard to break the heavy air.
"H-Hugo- what..whaT just.. happened??"
I glanced up, turning to see the ashen faced boy clinging to Nuru's upper arm. The star-studded bossy princess now gritting her teeth as she clutched her side, unable to sit up more then a pained crouch as Yong worriedly held onto her.
Both bruised and holding horror in their eyes.
Both turning to raise them to meet mine for answers. For guidance-I looked back down at the unconscious bleeding freckled man on me.
Stress pressed down on me like I had been forced to hold a mountain.
I didn't know what the hell to do.
I didn't sign up for dealing with this shit.
Forget what the fuck to say after something like that had just happened.Holding his head carefully I shook my head, the words coming from my mouth harboring my well earned frustration, "Shit. Fucking hellish shit Sparky. And we got our asses beat by it. By the God damn FUCKING SHIT."
"Hugo!", Nuru protested, quickly going into a heavy cough.
"Shut up for fucks sake before you kill yourself.", I shot back, picking up Varian and kneeling down right next to the other two. "Save your breath while I try to figure out how the hell to fix both of you."
I then moved her pressed hands and looked at her punctured side, the blood spreading across her dress quickly before looking back at Varian and his bleeding right eye.
I then quickly grabbed the vials off my belt, my mind clearing more as I looked at the looming problems in front of me.
I had to stop the bleeding fast.
Nuru looked at me worriedly, "D-Do you.. you know how t-to heal this stuff?"
"If you don't die it's a win. Now be quiet, I'm serious Princess.", I then ripped off my sleeve, pouring the mixture onto the now-wadded cloth.
Taking her arm I quickly pulled her closer, pressing the soaked fabric against her stab wound and leaving her to hold it, before applying another medicated cloth against Varian's.Yong immediately helped her as she cried out in pain, pressing and holding it as her grip faltered.
"Yeah keep it there, don't move it!", I said as Varian let out a faint moan of pain, his body tensing from the chemicals I had applied.
I sucked in my breath as I looked at the two, both in more renewed pain, knowing my sleeves weren't exactly the cleanest material to use to try to staunch the blood flow. But it was what I had -since all our supplies were with the wagon who knows where- and it was the only thing I could think of to try to save them.
"It's h-hurting them!", Yong cried, more tears falling as he tried to comfort Nuru and Varian both, "How is..is it h-helping??"
"LISTEN IM TRYING ALRIGHT??", I yelled frustrated as the bleeding got heavier from his damaged eyeball, "ASK QUESTIONS LATER!"
