• Macaria •

"Macaria" father called as I passed the judgement hall
I took a breath before joining him
"Yes father?" I asked shortly

He stared at me a moment too long and eyes too full of knowing anger
"Father" I said when he did not speak

"Is there a reason why I did not arise until midday?" He asked me sternly
I let out an amused laugh
"So now I am responsible for your sleeping habits?" I asked, challenging him

"I think someone may be responsible. And that someone left this morning" he said
"So why are you asking me for an answer I do not have?" I asked
"Macaria I am not foolish" he said tiredly

"And I do not what you speak of" I said back
"Were you with him?" He asked simply
"I will be... at the ball" I said, steering him away from the possibility of more punishment
"Not a chance" he said

"It is not your decision. I asked Zeus and he granted me permission. He will stand by my side and he will fight for my hand" I told him honestly
"The way he fights for anything else in his pitiful existence?" He asked

"The way you fought for mother" I said
"That was different" he said
"Yes. Only in the fact that I am not as lost as mother was. I know who I am and I know what I desire most. I love Thanatos. I have loved him long before mother read us story books of love, long before I witnessed it amongst the humans. I have loved him from the moment my soul met his" I said with conviction

"I will always love him. And he loves me" I said
"We shall see" he said coldly.

"Yes. You will" I said

• Thanatos •

I appeared to him... slowly. Unsurprisingly
"Sisyphus..." I said. As strongly as I could knowing I was bringing a man to death who did not deserve it yet.
Or maybe he did. His reign, mistreating his wife
Mistreating his own family. He was a man who had not yet earned death and yet he was free to ruin lives?

He looked at me. And he knew
It took him moments but he saw.
"No... n- no this is not my time" he said
"It is" I said
"No! No I have more to do. More to achieve. You cannot take me now" he stumbled over himself.

I let out my mist, holding him in place. Eyes wide and frantic and I almost felt guilty
But this man is no man at all. And I wish to be with Macaria for eternity.
