"How are you feeling today dear sister?" Melinoe asked, sitting beside me in the grass "Hopeful" I said honestly as Zagreus too sat down "I spoke with Zeus. And he may allow Thanatos and myself to attend the ball together" I said happily
"And what does father say about that?" Melinoe asked knowingly "He does not know" I said, receiving a look from both of them. The look that I should know better "My affairs are not his concern" I said
"I am grown. And I am mature" I defended when they still said nothing "And you are his daughter. Just like mother is Demeter's. Look what happened to her. Look what father did for her" Zagreus pointed out
"And now we lose her for half of the year. We have spent all of our lives with half of our mother's time" he said "And Demeter hardly welcomes us" Melinoe commented That is true but not surprising
It was easy to see why, she could not look at us without seeing father. Especially Zagreus
"I love Thanatos. And I will do whatever it takes to be with him" I said honestly "Even if it means that we lose you?" He asked, causing Melinoe to look at me with worry in her eyes too
"You will never lose me. We both belong in the underworld. And we are perfectly right for each other. Nothing could possibly go wrong if father would just give us the chance... and his blessing" I muttered towards the end.
"I just do not wish to see you her hurt" Zagreus said "I assure you I will not be" I promised "We would never let you" Melinoe smiled, taking my hand in her own.

"Hypnos, before you leave I need a favour" I said "Me? I thought I messed up every plan" he said dramatically "Hypnos" I sighed "What do you need?" He asked "I need to see Macaria, urgently" I said
He thought about it. "Well... I plan to leave in the morning. I suppose I could put Hades to sleep... deeply. Maybe a few guards too" he thought aloud "You would do that?" I asked desperately
He shrugged "I cannot get caught. Even if he figures it out, I shall be away with Pasithea, giving him ample time to calm down" he weighed his options He thought for a moment longer
"Yes. Tonight. Wait by the blossom tree and I shall bring you your princess" he grinned And I... hugged him. Abruptly, emotionally "Thank you brother" I said genuinely.
