One year later
Bokuto
AKAASHI!!
11:30Akaashi
Bokuto-san?
12:02Bokuto
Why are you answering
so late? :(
12:05Akaashi
I might have had a class?
12:06Bokuto
:(
12:06Akaashi
What would you have needed?
12:06Bokuto
I wanted to ask if you had time
during the lunch break.
12:07Akaashi
For what?
12:07Bokuto
You know that ;)
12:07Akaashi
No.
12:08Bokuto
Yes you do :)
12:08Akaashi
No.
12:08Bokuto
Then come to the gym anyway. ;)
12:08Akaashi
And if not?
12:10Bokuto
;)
12:11Akaashi
Stop with those smileys.
12:11Bokuto
No :)

Akaashi smiled at the screen of his phone, then put it back in his pocket and quickened his steps, running down the corridors, down the stairwell, out of the school, along the short distance outside, faster and faster with each step as he got closer to the clubroom.
"There he is," Konoha said, "you sure took your time, Akaashi."
"Sorry. The teacher overstayed her welcome." Akaashi took off his school uniform blazer and hung it in his locker.
"AKAASHI!!!" Bokuto came running into the club room. "We really need to try something!"
"Is it at least a good idea?"
Bokuto nodded eagerly.
"I guess everyone has their own opinion on that," Konoha interjected.
"Can you leave your comments alone for once?"
Konoha shook his head.
Akaashi eyed Bokuto. "Are you warmed up yet?"
He nodded. "I've been ready for a long time."
"Well, now you'll have to wait."
Bokuto grimaced jokingly. "In that case, I can be very patient."
Konoha, who had just drunk, spat the entire contents right back out, holding his stomach with laughter.
"What's so funny now?!"
Akaashi couldn't help a soft, almost inaudible laugh. "We all know how patient you are, Bokuto-san."
"To me!"
As always, Akaashi analysed everything first. Bokuto would be blocked, the blocks had already jumped up, Konoha stood clear. Bokuto had called for the ball though, if it was blocked he would be annoyed. On the other hand, he had to have an idea.
"Bokuto!"
Bokuto managed a blockout.
"YEAH! Akaashi, did you see that? Did you see it?"
Akaashi nodded. "Sure, I passed it to you, didn't I?"
"Right! Another one in a minute!"
Akaashi couldn't help a tiny smile. He liked it when training went so well.
"Have you even started studying yet?" asked Akaashi as he began to eat his lunch.
"Nope. I'm still doing that." Bokuto literally wolfed down his food.
Akaashi raised an eyebrow. "If I were you, I would have started long ago."
"That's the difference between us. In fact, you've probably already started."
"No, actually I haven't. I'm still studying for my exams."
His phone vibrated in his pocket, he would have preferred to ignore it.
Kenzo
I'm supposed to tell you that
you have to come home on
time today.
