Akaashi's whole body resembled a jelly as he walked towards the witness chair and took a seat on it.
The day before, he had reassured Bokuto that it wasn't so bad, that he should stay calm and just answer the questions.
And now he sat there, with a tremor in his voice, a body made of Jell-O, as the judge took his particulars."All right. Let's start from the beginning: When did your father start abusing you?"
"That..."
I don't believe it.
He had prepared himself specially, hadn't he? Why didn't he remember his answers?"Ahm...I don't remember. As long as I can remember," he improvised.
"I see...and do you know why?"
"No. He told me several times that he hated me, but I don't know if that was the exact reason."
"And what did he do then, if he hurt you?"
"All sorts of things. He...beat me...locked me in the closet...he..." His voice failed and one of the constables placed a packet of tissues on the table as, out of nowhere, tears sprang from his eyes.
"Thank you," he murmured as he wiped them from his eyes."Okay...Tell us about what happened on the morning of the twentieth of November, please."
Akaashi took a few deep breaths in and out before he began to speak again. "When I woke up, my father was standing in front of me. He said he would take me to school and I was scared, so I hurried. Then, just before school, an argument broke out and I got out of the car. He chased me all the way to the school grounds, where he then beat me until Bokuto chased him out of there."
"Can you say why you were fighting?"
Akaashi swallowed. To keep his thinking phase from showing, he took a sip of water. "About...It was about...That...He was questioning me about having a steady.... boyfriend... had, because he felt that way, since I was always writing and dating Bokuto. And I then asked him the counter question why he didn't tell me what happened with my mother. And then he snapped."
"I see...Okay...What happened after your best friend chased your father out of the school compound?"
"I was scared to come home." Tears suddenly flowed down his cheeks, with a handkerchief he tried to stop them. "I...spent the night at Bokuto's," he sobbed.
„Okay...Calm down again, everything is okay. You can talk here, you are safe here."
For a brief moment Akaashi closed his eyes.
„Then the next morning came the message from the lawyer. I asked for a DANN test and on the same day we did it. Then a few days later came the result."„Positive?"
„Yes."
„And how did you react?"
„I was agitated. And how only. I went home, and I confess that I raised my voice. But he didn't give me any answers to my questions. Instead, he tried to strangle me because he thought I would destroy his career."
„And you gave in to that?"
„No, I managed to break free and ran away."
„To your best friend?"
„Yes, exactly. And that's where he chased me, then he also entered his house and continued there."
The judge nodded knowingly. „Thank you for your testimony. Are there any more questions from the lawyers?"
His father's lawyer rose – an arrogant grin on her lips. „Yes, I have a few, actually."
Tossing her brunette hair over her shoulder, she walked forward.
„For me, to be honest, there are a few ambiguities. On the one hand, your Best Friend testified yesterday that your mother asked for the DNA test, today you say you wanted it. Which is right now?"
