His fingernails dug into his palms as he walked down the path with quick steps.
As he did so, he felt a vibration in his jacket pocket.

Bokuto
Kaashi?
      17:30

Bokuto
Where are you?
     17:30

Akaashi
I have to sort something out.
17:30

Bokuto
What-
    17:30

Bokuto
NO
   17:30

Bokuto
Kaashi, please don't do this.
                                 17:30

Bokuto
Come to me, please.
                        17:30
Bokuto
Keiji....
      17:30

Incoming call.

Akaashi put his mobile phone in his pocket.
He didn't register at first that Bokuto had called him by his first name, but it didn't really bother him.

He unlocked the front door, slammed it shut so his father would notice him.
Half a second later, he came running towards him.

"Oh, look at that!" He lashed out, but Akaashi deftly dodged.
"NO! That's enough!" he shouted.
His father stared at him with wide, angry eyes.
"I know everything."
He snorted. "Did your stupid mother talk to you, huh?"

"She's not stupid. You are. You destroyed her whole life, and that wasn't enough for you, so you destroyed mine too!"

The man punched him with all his might.
"And you want to destroy mine, do you?!" he yelled in his face.

Akaashi felt blood running from his nose. "Yes. Because it serves you right."

His cheek burned as his father struck again. His hands gripped his neck, pulling him up against the wall. Akaashi struggled for breath.
"Let...me...go...!"

"You fucking faggot."
Akaashi stared at him with wide eyes.
"What?"
"Don't act like that! I know for a fact that you're with that guy!"

The setter tried to pull his father's hand away as slowly the vision blurred before his eyes.

"And you're not going to ruin my career!"
Akaashi let go of his hand, groping behind him.
"I would have you in a minute-"
His father fell to the floor as Akaashi slammed the bottle against his head.

Akaashi took a deep breath, trying to calm his breathing again.

Seeing the man lying there motionless, he sank to the floor, tears flowing from his eyes like waterfalls, but not out of grief, but because he thought he had committed murder.

Slowly he felt his pulse - he was still alive.

The boy raced, as fast as he could, to his room.
There he took a bag from his box, threw the most important things into it, including school supplies, books, clothes - all within two minutes.
Then he raced downstairs just as quickly. When he saw his father get up again, he ran out of the house as fast as he could.

"STOP RIGHT THERE!!!"

His stamina was actually already completely spent as he sprinted towards Bokuto's house.

He rang the doorbell because he felt he was being followed.

The door was opened by Yano. "Oh, hey."

"Hey, is Bo there?"
She nodded and gestured for him to come in.
She didn't have to tell him twice.
