"She fell for him. Harder than she ever had before. He made her feel special, until the day he decided, he didn't want her anymore, and that ruined her, it tore her heart out. It hurt her soul. She wasn't the same. And she knew it. From the day he said goodbye, she would never be the girl she was before." finished Yzma's mother, the Empress, Azma. Her two nephews rushed into the room.
"Another story, Grandma! Please!!" cried Zim.
"You're the best, Grandma." pleaded Zam.
Yzma chuckled, "Why don't you two run along and play? I'm sure your Grandma is a little tired and she wants some rest." Zim and Zam sighed and ran away.
"Thanks Mum. You didn't have to do that." sighed Yzma, patting her mother's very veiny hands that seemed to pop out as if to say hello or something. Her mother was getting old and Yzma was supposed to becoming Empress any day now. Her mother had even requested it to the royal council.
And Yzma was more than excited.
She'd been called many things in her life: thief, spoilt brat, loser, royal outcast. Now she would be called Empress. So when she drifted off to sleep that night, all she could think about was her coronation the very next day. And hope that there was no interruptions.
By squirrels.
Especially by squirrels.
Squirrels were good-for-nothing, annoying,
greedy-guts pigs who only thought about themselves in every situation. And Yzma's loyal servant, Kronk was obsessed with them. He was only young and had been the Head of the Squirrel Scouts but nonetheless he was Yzma's only available company within the palace apart from her mother and nephews. Her sister and husband had died in a tragic llama accident and Yzma had been forced to look after the brats. Zim and Zam were ten years old but nonetheless they were annoying as fuck.
They didn't enjoy money or power as much as she did, but they sure enjoyed playing around with Yzma's potions in her secret laboratory that she'd told nobody about. Except for Kronk. Yzma had threatened Kronk to not tell anyone otherwise she'd turn him into one of his special spinach puffs. And that was a big deal. Yzma hated his beloved spinach puffs.
And she was willing to do anything to make sure that Kronk was turned into one sooner or later. Soon, the sun rose and birds squawked loudly and mice squeaked along the floors. It was finally Yzma's coronation. Finally.

"By the ultimate power vested in me by the all powerful gods, here today we hereby crown our truely beloved Yzma, Empress Yzma-"
"Oh no, you don't." boomed a voice from within the palace. Everyone turned to figure out who was speaking. "We're here and we're taking over." snarled the voice again. And that did it. His name was King Tepoc and he was King of the barbarians who were invading the kingdom that Yzma so desperately loved.
When it ended, Yzma looked in despair for those she loved most. Her two nephews were dead. Zim. Zam. Her mother, Azma laying on the ground. Clank. Clank. "Hand the crown over. And I'll let you go." said the voice. Yzma tried to hang on but the king took the crown and proclaimed himself Emperor of them all.
Emperor Tepoc of Peru.
Or as they thought.. the world.
