Millie was frozen on the spot. She had her hands in the air, tears in her eyes.
-Fuck., whispered the brunette.
Sadie asked her if she trusted her. She was trying to trust her. But she was also scared that Sadie had been working for the lunatic all this time. Her breath started to quicken.
-Please., pleaded Millie.
Sadie knew that the "please" was meant for her. It hurt her, seeing Millie like that. She looked at the men.
-Oh my god, watch out!, yelled Sadie pointing at one of the entrances.
While the men turned around to look at the closed entrance, Sadie started shooting them. One after the other. There were only two left who turned around faster than the others. Sadie pulled Millie behind her, as they starting firing back. Sadie took two more shots and then there was no more noise. Millie had closed her eyes, had her arms above her head, to somehow protect herself but also hating the sounds of the shots.
-You can come out., said Sadie, talking to her friends.
Millie opened her eyes and looked around, seeing the dead men. She then looked down, lost in her thoughts. But, as she looked on the floor, she saw something. Something red. A red liquid. Her eyes widened and she started checking her body, wanting to make that she wasn't hurt or shot without noticing due to adrenaline. That's when Olivia gasped.
-Sadie!, said the brunette, running up to her.
Teagan frowned and then saw it too. Millie realized that it wasn't her blood. But her savior's. She turned Sadie around who seemed a little paler than usual, her hand on her side, right above her waist.
-It's fine., said the redhead.
-You got shot, it's not fine., replied Millie, putting her hand on Sadie's, trying to move it aside to see the wound but Sadie didn't let her.
-I'm fine. We need to focus on blocking every entrance. Lilia, Jillian, you take the two on the right. Block them with anything you can find backstage. Teagan and Olivia, you take the two on the left. Millie and I-, started Sadie.
-Sadie, you got shot. Sit down and let us take a look at it., said Teagan.
-I told you, I'm fine. Now let's-, tried Sadie again.
-No. Let's not. Sit down. For once in your goddamn life, stop being stubborn. I am gonna let you walk around like that. Sit. Now. It's an order., continued Teagan.
-An order?, replied the redhead, looking at her, raising an eyebrow.
-Yes. As your best friend, I am ordering you to stop playing tough and sit the fuck down., replied the girl, not affected by her gaze.
Sadie rolled her eyes and walked to the bleachers, sitting down. Teagan followed her, along with Millie who was more than worried.
-Why did you do that? That was dumb., said Millie.
-You were scared. I had to do something., replied Sadie, shrugging.
-You could have gotten yourself killed., replied the brunette.
-I couldn't care less., shrugged the redhead once again.
Teagan took Sadie's hand away from the wound and sighed in relief.
-It's only a scratch. We're gonna have to disinfect it, but you're lucky. The bullet only scratched your flesh., explained the younger girl.
-Yeah, very lucky., sighed Sadie as she looked at Millie.
-Don't do that again., said Millie seriously.
-What? Saving your ass? I've been doing that for hours. Don't think that I'll stop now., replied Sadie with a shrug.
-I am putting all of you in danger. I think it's time I deliver myself to that psycho and get over with this bullshit., admitted the brunette, looking at a door.
-Fuck no. You're not going anywhere., said Sadie getting up again and groaning.
-Sit your ass down., said Teagan again who now had a first aid kit in her hands.
-Look at you. You're hurt because of me. She won't stop until she has me, even if it means killing all of you. I won't let that happen. I need to stop being a coward and face her., replied Millie grabbing her backpack, but Lilia took the backpack away.
-No. Sadie is right. You're not going anywhere., repeated Lilia.
-Lilia, get out of my way., said the brunette with a warning tone.
Jillian walked up to them and stood next to Lilia. Olivia joined them, creating a sort of wall.
-Guys, move., ordered Millie, clenching her jaw.
Sadie got up, grabbed Millie's hand and pulled her to the bleacher, making her sit down. She didn't say a word but she didn't let go of her hand. She grabbed something out of her pocket and handcuffed herself to Millie.
-What the fuck? Let me go!. yelled the brunette.
-Stop screaming, they could hear you., said Teagan as she started inspecting Sadie's wound.
-Yeah, that's the fucking point!, continued Millie.
Sadie looked at Olivia.
-Could you give me your scarf please?, asked the redhead.
Millie obviously understood what Sadie was planning.
-Don't you fucking dare., said Millie.
-Will you shut up?, asked Sadie seriously, looking her in the eyes.
Millie clenched her jaw, looked down and didn't say another word.
Sadie was now looking at Teagan who was finally taking care of the wound. After only a few minutes, it was taken care of.
-Won't they know that we're here now?, asked Olivia, looking at the dead bodies.
-Probably. But we could use that to our advantage., said Lilia.
-What do you mean?, wondered Sadie.
-They're waiting for us to leave to another place right now because they know that we know that they know that we're here. But what if we stay? They'll eventually come in and we could set traps. I mean, the cops will arrive at some point. If we plan everything correctly, we'll be able to win some time until they're here., explained Lilia.
-You're right. They would expect us to find a new hideout., nodded Sadie, looking around.
-Okay, but how do we set up traps?, asked Olivia.
-I used to go to hunting with my dad. He taught me how to make traps out of scrap. This could work., said Jillian.
-Okay, you guys start building those traps. Sadie, you rest. You lost some blood. Just lay down somewhere and rest. And do not be stubborn and start arguing., warned Teagan.
-Fine., replied the redhead.
She looked around and got up. She went backstage with Millie, whose hand was still handcuffed to Sadie's. She found a mattress that they actors would use in their play and walked up to it. She laid down on it, obviously forcing Millie to get down as well. The brunette sat down on the mattress, turning her back to Sadie.
