---TIME SKIP TWO WEEKS---

Sadie and Millie had lived in the apartment together for the past few weeks, just happy with each other's presence. Sadie had been working up the courage to talk to Millie about something. Can you guess what?

Millie was cleaning the dishes while Sadie was putting the leftovers in the fridge. She leaned on the table, looking at the brunette.

-Hey Mills?, said the older girl.

-Hm?, hummed Millie as she continued washing the dirty dishes.

-Do you want to go out with me? You know, like a date. Just the two of us?, asked Sadie, trying to read Millie body language since her back was facing her.

-I know what a date is, Sades., chuckled Millie, putting the plate down and drying her hands on a towel.

She turned around, seeing Sadie waiting for an answer, shyly looking at her with her beautiful blue soft eyes. Millie walked up to her and smiled.

-I would love that., said Millie as she leaned in for a kiss.

Sadie obviously kissed back, wrapping her arms around Millie's waist. The redhead then pulled away.

-Does this make you my girlfriend?, asked Sadie, somewhat confused.

-Not sure. But how about I make this easier for the both of us? Hm?, asked Millie, looking at Sadie.

-How?, wondered the older girl, looking back at her.

-Do you want to be my girlfriend?, simply asked Millie with a soft smile.

-Oh. Yeah. I would love that., nodded Sadie, repeating Millie's words from their previous question.

-Good. So, now we'll go on the date as girlfriends. And the date better be good. I have high standards., joked Millie.

-Oh yeah for sure., chuckled Sadie, pecking her lips.

And so they went on a cheesy picnic date along a river. Just those two idiots, deeply in love with each other and finally not being scared of living a little, knowing that the future awaits but they know they'll face it together. They never would want to grow apart, each other's presence bringing them great comfort and reassurance. Sadie managed to continue her studies, choosing criminology, later on becoming an incredible detective who would make sure that no one would be treated unfairly on her watch. Millie on the other hand, she decided to take over her dad's company as her father later on ended in jail for various reasons.

They never lost contact with the other girls. Lilia and Jillian were made for each other and finally admitting their undying feelings for each other after countless of months pretending like it was nothing. They eventually moved in together. Jillian decided to do whatever made her happy, so she started streaming, eventually being a content creator with a pretty decent community and following, big enough for her to live off of it. Lilia was proud of her amazing girlfriend but of course she wanted to have her own thing, so she started to write books. Just your usual cheesy novels that you get obsessed with.

Then there was Teagan and Olivia. After what happened at the park, they grew closer. Olivia needed someone to talk to and Teagan was more than happy to be that someone for her. From strangers to friends, from friends to... Olivia finally made the first move and kissed Teagan on a "friend date" that quickly turned into a real date. Suddenly, bowling did sound like fun for Teagan. They decided to take it slow at first but quickly decided to move in together because as they had experienced, life was too short to waste time. Teagan began to work as social worker, helping children in need and always making sure to find them a safe and convenient home. Olivia loved seeing Teagan helping people that she decided to do something similar. She became a nurse, but kept studying to later on be a doctor. They were proud of each other's achievements.

Every once in a while, the group would meet and just talk for hours and hours. They never lost the friendship and trust that they had build throughout their journey. They knew they had found their chosen family and nothing in the world would make them leave.

Talking about family. Ava obviously went back to Sadie's parents. The parents never got around the fact of having a gay daughter, so Sadie never really got back to them or even talked to them. She would meet up with Ava, loving her little sister and seeing her grow into the young woman that she then became. She was glad that they didn't end up like their parents.

You can find love in the most random places. You can't choose the family by blood that you're given, but you can always find a family that you feel like you belong to. Your chosen family. Fortunately, these girls were lucky enough to find their chosen family, even if it was because of that horrible situation. They finally found people who were worth living for. They found trust and love, whether it was platonic, sisterly or romantic.

Let yourself be loved by those who deserve you.

The end.
