Jean had another accident today. Her Phoenix is getting out of control. It has her husband Scott very unhappy. Yes, her husband is Cyclops. It makes sense. Those two have always loved each other. Now she's caused several deaths and Scott is not happy with her at all. He can't do anything about it, but he knows who can help control or totally remove the Phoenix from her.
They go visit Xavier the following day. He says that the Phoenix can be removed from Jean. He then shows them how they are going to remove the Phoenix from Jean. They soon begin the procedure. The Phoenix is safely removed. She still has her telepathic abilities though. She's glad to finally be free of the destructive Phoenix. It had torn her and Scott apart but no more. She is Phoenix free and glad to be so.
