(Martijns POV)
"Right are you ready to go?" Watse questioned, taking a final look around the apartment in Ibiza for any belongings I may have forgotten to pack. It wouldn't be unusual for me to try and leave without my passport or second shoe or anything ridiculous.
"Ready as ever," I smiled, throwing my black rucksack on my back over the top of my grey baggy sweater, which was matched with black jeans and grey shoes. Quickly, I checked my phone. It was just after mid day here, and luckily the Netherlands were on the same time zone, meaning it was for lily too. I sent her a generic text, asking how her birthday was so she wouldn't be suspicious. I smiled to myself, thinking about seeing her.
Roars of engine jets echoed through my ears, not that it was unusual for me. I'd never been a huge fan of flying as a child, but since I'd been lucky enough to have my own jet, I loved it more than ever. Especially when I had my own piece of heaven waiting for me at the other end, unbeknown to this at current. Looking out the window, I could see the sun was beginning to set beneath the clouds, blankets of orange and pink reflecting on them. I could tell we were near the Netherlands yet by the lack of rain clouds. I sighed, wishing this flight could hurry and I could be reunited. Pulling my phone off the table in front of me, I noticed Lily had added an Instagram picture. My jaw dropped, almost certainly allowing a metaphorical drool to exit my mouth as I stared at the human i was lucky enough to call my girlfriend. Her dark hair was blow dried into perfect bouncy curls, her makeup, that she rarely were and certainly never needed, flawless and glam and her body cascaded in a low cut red silk dress. I left a few stunned comments, the first thoughts that came to my head, and no care in the world what fans or friends may have thought of this. Aslong as she knew how inlove with her I was.
After a few hours of flying, the wheels finally touched down on the surprisingly dry runway of Schiphol Airport. My heart pounded in me, knowing how close I now was to completing my surprise. I would have been a fool not to after all as my last show of the week finished in the early hours. Lily just didn't need to know that in fear of blowing part of her surprise party.
(Lily's POV)
"What time was the next train to town again?" I queried Natalie and Anne, my arms linked with theirs as we stumbled down the cobbled streets of my tiny town in our heels. We weren't drunk, just not used to walking in heels.
"Urm, I think in about half an hour?" Natalie shrugged, catching an awkward eye with Anne from the other side of me.
"That's soooo long, why did we leave so early?!" I hugged, laughing playfully. I was so excited to party for my birthday, even if it was just the three of us in a random club in town.
"I thought you might want to call in at the pub on the way and see Lester and Simon?" Anne offered, pointing to the cosy pub as we turned the corner.
"Ok sure, but I don't think it's open? All the lights are off?" I stopped in my path, confused as to why they had closed at such an early time.
"They're not closed, Simon Snapchat's me from their literally a few minutes ago," Natalie assured us. "Perhaps there's a power cut or something? Either way its cold, we should go in." She was insistent, and so we headed for the door without further ado.
"You must be right, I've never seen it so dark and quiet, where is everyone?!" I asked in slight fear as we entered the pub. It was silent, so quiet you could hear a pin drop. No humming of dishwashers, the occasional drop of a tap in the back kitchen.
"SURPRISE!"
Tears filled my eyes as I fell to the floor, my hands covering my mouth in happiness as I absorbed all the beautiful people around me that I loved and adored, showing me the same message. People I had only met recently, had made me so welcome.
Simon, Lester, Kai, Louis, Watse, Nadia, Laura, Karin and Gerard, Josie, every friend i could possibly name was in front of me dressed in party attire with huge smiles. Of course Martin wasn't, but he was on tour and I had already accepted that. I greeted everyone excitedly with open arms and tears of happiness, everyone exchanging happy courtesy and laughter with me.
"Lily, I got you a present! It's in the staff room," Lester shouted above the commotion just minutes later, peering through the door of the staff room. I raised my eyebrow at him.
"I told you not to get me anything!" I folded my arms playfully, walking towards him and the door.
"I know but I couldn't resist this one," He flung the door open and I could have fainted. I couldn't contain my happiness. Tears fell down my cheeks, warming them as they did. Every emotion of happiness warmed through me. There in front of me, stood my mother, my sister, and my boyfriend.
"Oh my gosh!" I cried, jumping into my mums arms. She latched on to me, Daisy joining the hug and Martin waiting next to us with a bunch of flowers in his hand, laughing at my excited gesture.
"I can't believe you're here," I sniffed, my mum stroking my head.
"We wouldn't have missed your special day for the world!" She sniffed in response, clearly happy to be here.
"My Marty," I moved onto my boyfriend, looking immediately into his beautifully vibrant eyes, before accepting the flowers from his grasp and letting him pull me into him.
"I love you so much," he whispered in my ear, plastering my head in kisses.
"I love you too," I pulled away smiling, stroking his rosy cheek with my thumb, shaking my head at his perfection.
"Come on baby, your guests are waiting," he winked, taking my hand and placing a gentle kiss on it, causing my mum to gush, and my sister to "eww" in her young age. We both laughed, Martin ruffling her hair. Everything felt surreal, but so perfect.
