(Lily's POV)
With open arms, I was welcomed into the warm embrace of the little pub where my heart was made. I couldn't help but smile, thinking about what had previously happened in here.
"Hey look, it's Mrs Garrix herself," Lester cheered, causing an awkward silence among the tiny room. I couldn't help but laugh.
"Shut up, Lester," I shook my head, walking to where he stood behind the bar doing everything but working.
"Oh wait, this is the girl that you got Martin here for?" An unfamiliar blonde male asked, flicking his blue eyed gaze between myself and the petite bar man.
"That's the one! After her family contacted me and explained, well, everything I just knew I had to talk to Louis - Lily here is a superfan of course," Lester winked, patronizingly throwing his arm around my shoulder.
"You make me sound like a twelve year old fangirl," I folded my arms playfully, both the boys laughing.
"Mate the way you cried into his arms, I think you are," Lester chuckled, holding his belly as he did so. He was not wrong, and just thinking about this incident made my face flush red and my heart skip a beat. Pulling out the stool of a nearby table, I sat myself down. It was nearing darkness outside, and the rain continued to patter against the glowing orange pub, the candles on the table just adding to the snug feeling.
Overhearing various conversations, I sat alone scrolling through my phone. Until I heard a voice.
"You don't have to sit alone, by the way, we don't bite," The boy winked, laughing. I looked at him, slightly intimidated. He must have been around 6 foot tall. "I'm Simon."
"Nice to meet you, I'm Lily. I've just moved here today," I smiled shyly, pushing a piece of hair behind my ear.
"On your own? You don't look too old," He asked, pulling the seat opposite me out. I nodded, telling him my age. Turning my head to the side, I noticed Lester listening in.
"Did you just say you've moved here? I thought you and your family were just visiting?!" He exclaimed, still failing to actually do any work.
" We were, but I didn't really fancy going back. This place feels more like home, I don't feel afraid here," I shrugged, Lester smiling as he acknowledged this.
Myself and the two males continued talking till later that night. It turned out Simon was only a year or so older than me and lived just down the road. He was a great person, a really friendly and kind aura about him. I was already feeling so positive. And then I remembered, tomorrow I had to go and ask around for a job and this was very anxiety inducing for me.
"You alright?" Lester asked, noticing the look change on my face before I even knew it myself. I explained my thoughts to him and he just stood silent for a moment, concentrating on the pint he was pouring.
"You could always work here, we need an extra pair of hands. It wouldn't be loads of hours, but it's something?" He shrugged. My eyes widened, an air of excitement and relief over me.
"I would love to!" I smiled.
"Then go and get some sleep and you can start tomorrow!"
